IMO, there is nothing better in this world than being in the forests of Idaho, especially the Sawtooths. I'm a lifelong Idahoan, while growing up, my parents and brothers always went to the Stanley Basin in the summer. My only complaint is the number of people that now come from Sun Valley, ie movie stars. There was a a feeling that I cannot explain. I am now 52, and always feel at peace in an Idaho Forest.

Thanks! We appreciate it 🙏
Those views 😍
Would you say they're spectacular?
Hey Jon. Hiked Goat Rock near Smiley Creek today..had to swack and mark my own trail..any knowledge about the area
I've stayed at Smiley and I'm familiar with Goat Lake but I'm not familiar with Goat Rock. What kind of info are you looking for?
@@JonConti Hi Jon. Routed the climb just after the Creek at RD 077A..(Off Smiley Creek. The climb had no markers (now does in terms of Cairns, tree leans and ground markers).
You can avoid the first Ridge altogether as you have to drop down into the Draw by starting further up the FR Road. Expect 2 open meadow ridge climbs and then the ascent up the rock formation itself.
Apparently locals call it Goat Rock.
As you have no info on thos particular adventure..I'm not expecting anything but loved your video and wanted to share with you a very cool climb in a remote area of the Sawtooth...would love to figure a way to traverse that ridgeline..you know..without dieing in the process as well
@@jonathanlockwood8851 Ya man I'm gonna be up there with some locals next week I'll ask around about it. You have peaked my interest sir!
@@JonConti Smiley Creek Lodge. Will be working..looking forward to meeting some local badass hikers
@@JonConti I know the smoke is an issue but I am off Thursday if you would like to check out Goat Rock and maybe we can parse a route across that Ridge towards Mattingly
looks like city boys trying their best to get out in the woods with electronics.... sounds super romantic for those types of people that ruin special spots for everyone
Could anyone please tell the name of the song in the back ground
Marionette - How great we’re the robins
Beautifully made video
Josue Hernandez thank you!
Where do you get your music. Love it.
Thanks! For this video musicbed.com
No place like home . 208 for life

Does "4.2 out and back" mean 4.2 miles one way or round trip? Sorry if that's a dumb question.
No worries, round trip is 4.2
Thank you❤❤
Anna Queen you’re welcome 😀
Well done sir.
Thank you 🙏
How do you get permits to fly in the wilderness, I thought this wasn't allowed?
It's not, don't fly in the wilderness.
What do you think of the White Clouds?
Honestly I haven’t really been in them! I always have gone to the Sawtooths. I was gonna hit them last year but the smoke was so bad
@@JonConti How about the Big Horn Crags? That is on my bucket list also and climbing Mt. McGuire. I know getting there is challenge and there are no topo maps (in feet) of the Big Horn Crags. I'll have to have one made on MyTopo.
@@Ruger44Redhawk I’ve actually only been backpacking for 2 1/2 years so I still have a lot to get to
4.2 each way or RT?

New sub ! Liked
Nice little secret in America!
For sure
Can we bike it?
Ya but it’s pretty heavily trafficked with hikers. It wouldn’t be a very enjoyable ride for me personally. I guess you could go nice and early in the morning
This was an amazing video. Loved all the shots and drone elements. I'm definitely be driving up here this summer from Utah. Wow.
Ready.
In one year ~ everything is going to change.
I promise. And, I’m the one that can make that promise.
Make a sanctuary with government funds for the Sacagawea Tribe. The last of my lineage.
I am!
There will be requirements to enter. You must have a severe musical talent. Worthy of Opera.
Thank you,
The true daughter of Jane Howard
The Only daughter ~ of Jane Howard.
Stand Down ~ Andi.
Thank you
I wanna go so bad I'd definitely take my two 10mm guns with me though. I've heard there's mountain lions and bear up there
Lol. That sounds like overkill
@@JonConti .Haha nope I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've ran into black bear and had to use it. Bear spray is a joke it did nothing
take care of your health
I will try ✌️
lol it’s brett
The one and only
It's SAWTOOTH, not Sawtooths. Thank you!
I mean, no? Maybe grammatically but if you come here and say "know any good hikes in the Sawtooth" you will be mocked and ridiculed 😂
Close off the passage to Sun Valley if you have to. And block the back way to Idaho City.
Block all the roads in and out.
I’m serious. If this war breaks out ~ I don’t care about Boise. I need the rest of the passage under complete ~ original ~
Sacagawean Control.
Thank you ~
Truly nice video, but I think your video is better than actually being there. I wouldn’t call it a life changing hike by any means. It’s a decent day hike with one nice view point.
I was/am an alcoholic. The year before I made the video I hiked there drunk. Spent a week in that area sobering up. Haven’t had a drink since. So for me, it changed my life. That was my first time back after a year of sobriety.
@@JonConti Gotcha, and congrats! FYI, I saw someone wearing one of your shirts at Redfish, and asked him about it. Long story short, I bought one a week later at Banana Ink in Boise. Cheers!
@@jwt1035 thanks homie! ✌️
I’ve decided ~ Andi Jane Howard ~
I’m going to make this a little bigger ~ than that.
It’s my turn.
Apart of my story ~
We were in the backcountry ~ in a place I’ll never tell you where. And, I learned a major lesson ~ from one of the finest women our state had ever known.
She was hard. And, she was mean. Built for real weather and mountains. Running horses. And, tackling real world problems all from her porch.
And ~ then some little shit came along ~ stole her husband and all of her dreams.
And ~ like a real woman ~ she left angrier than hell. Rightfully.
That’s where I came in ~
She hated me the moment she saw me. She tested me beyond what she wanted to admit ~ in her soul. And, at the end of the our time together ~
I won her heart. And, I chose to give back her land.
In Challis ~
Recognize me yet ~ little girl fake Andi ~
My story goes way back, Andi. I promise. You’ll lose. This is my home. The last of my lineage ~ the Mohicans of Sacagawea joined with Cherokee ~ so we could survive.
Moving on to singing ~
Hand over my money ~ and ~ get out of my state.
~~~
I was chosen for Moon Force. I’ve accepted gladly. ~
I don’t know who my partner is. Not a big deal. I believe in arranged marriages. So ~ this is expected.
Much work to do.
First? My first real vacation ~ ever. Earned.
I’ll be home soon.
Love my home ~ please.
Truly love it. It’s warming because of the tourism and the building. Because of people.
I’m begging the tribes to protect our home.
Gentle smile ~
I have another garden to build ~
Just in case.
Small smile. Humbled. Grateful.
Thank you to the Brains ~ for being some of our best friends ~ in life.
Sincerely,
Laon
Correction ~ I can’t stand autocorrect. lol. Just kidding …
To the Braun Family ~ a big thanks.
Oh!!!
Huge ~ Keep that dirt bag, Ilene, away from myself and kids. She is all greed. No thank you ~
Rolling eyes.
Thanks!
Bye ~
