As standard the bike is very lean. After a remap the whole rev range is running richer which means as well as an improved throttle response and more power, you get lower EGTs. Reliability and longevity will be improved with the remap not reduced. The factory have to run the engine lean to meet Euro emissions standards not for reliability or longevity.
