Hello from Tasmania, Australia. Many thanks for this lovely video - very handy, now my forever routine when prepping cucumbers. Cheers.
Never heard of this before. Good to know.
I’ve don’t this my whole life my grandmother showed me this. Told me it prevented the soap taste. Looks like grandma knew a few things.
I had one that was really bitter, happily the only one. I tossed it into the compost. My husband said, ''couldn't you have used it for your eyes?'' Where was he before I tossed it?
My MIL told me this but you just showed me why it's a thing! Thank you!!
I bought cucumber Friday
I cut one to eat Monday and it is bitter
Good video
I will have to try this
I like this guy. He helped me not destroy my whole crop. Thanks.
Like a smart alec I tried making the ridged gourd which was really bitter similar to the bitter gourd , but to my horror found that actually it could be toxic . Thanks for the information.
I was taught to do it to both ends, but using the opposite tips you cut off. I've tried it both ways, on the ends you cut them from and on the opposite ends It seems to pull a lot more of the white stuff when using opposite ends.
This is the way I was taught by my Polish Dad ❤
wow thanks for the tip!
Why did you mention cooking when you didn’t cook it?
Very helpful thank you

Why did you say mushrooms?

for this video. We grow cucumbers. Havent had very many sour ones. When my dad was.little he said he went out into grandmas garden and ate and ate cucumbers. He got so sick. Dr said he had cucumber disease. I bet this is what caused it. He still loved them though until the day he died.
This is done in india from decade
I’ve been eating English organic cucumbers.. no problem . The other day I bought four ones .. they weren’t the English ones and they weren’t organic . I spiralized it into a HUGE SALAD. I was so MAD! When I tasted it . I literally felt like I was being poisoned.🤢🤢🤢🤢
I ate a bitter one
I threw the rest away
Thought it was poisonous too
Who cooks cucumbers????
Humans
He does. No wonder hair fall down after eating his cucumbers in France.
cucumber is a fruit, not a vegetable :)
Yes, you are right.
The bitter may have happened because you didn't ask its permission to harvest it
