Only just discovered your wonderful videos. If you remember Challenger as per your previous video you must be forty something with kids like me- but you’ve made time to appreciate these models. Thanks for taking us on the journey
That's an amazing piece. Great review! I recently viewed the Endeavour itself in LA and noticed the heat resistant tiles are actually squared. Looks like the toy used a grip like pattern which my guess is due to ease of manufacturing reasons
I Remember that Day on May 7th 1992.......Because that’s my Birthday Lucky #7 after watching that I jumped on My Motorcycle and took a Ride down to Cape Cod Massachusetts and we had fun. Thanks 😊 Again Dan take Care and I look forward to seeing your next Great 👍 Video.
communication satellites by the way the white one is a cargo pallet, inside it is actually the folded configuration of the Canadarm 2 for the ISS, and the silver cylindrical piece is the Multipurpose Logistics Module, also for carrying cargo to the ISS. the payload configuration is actually the exact one that Endeavour flew for mission STS-100, when it delivered Canadarm 2 to the ISS
The Shuttle was launched in Cape Canaveral, FL. On Pad 39a (now belongs to Spacex and the same place where most moon launches accured) or pad 39b (now belong to Boeing for SLS launch next year) and it also landed on a landing strip in Cape Canaveral. They used to plan a launch from Vandenberg AFB in California, but it was too complicated and expensive. Now the pad (SLC-6) on Vandenberg belongs to ULA ( Boeing and Lockheed merger) who launches Delta and Atlas rockets
I wish that Bandai would reconsider and do another one of these shuttles. I would like to see them do a tribute to either the Challenger or Columbia, maybe even both. Or at least do an anniversary edition of this model.
Scott S there’s so many configurations they could do, like Columbia in its STS-1 paint scheme with White External Tank, or maybe have a Shuttle like Atlantis with the worm font of the NASA logo in the 1980’s to late 90’s or maybe have Discovery come with Hubble, or like you said have Challenger and Columbia in their last designs as a tribute, you never see the two destroyed Shuttles in toys just models but even then you don’t have the option to make those spacecraft accurate to what you see in life, because with Columbia and Challenger their are small things that make them looking unique, such as the black wings and tail on Columbia or Challengers tail that has that LITTLE bit of black on it. I would snag those up right away!
@@GumballAstronaut7206 it would be nice if Bandai done a Columbia STS-1 to commemorate its first flight. As you said, I’d snag one up right away! However, I contacted Bandai and they have no plans to either reproduce this or do any other shuttle even though they know it’d be very popular.
Im pretty sure the Canadarm RMS was only ever installed in the Shuttle on the port side so why they have two is a mystery. Its takes nothing away from the sheer AWESOMENESS of this Bandai Model. Im Australian and was and always will be very PROUD of the US Space Shuttle Program. When I look at the Space Shuttle I not only see my Heroes that were tragically lost on the CHALLENGER STS 51L & COLUMBIA STS 107 Missions I see all of my Heroes from the Astronauts who actually flew the Shuttle to the thousands of extraordinary people who designed, built, launched and flew 135 Space Shuttle Missions over all those incredible years this Planet was lucky to have the Space Shuttle Program. The Space Shuttle Program was a success for all of Humanity. THANKS again for showing us this incredible treasure the bandai Space Shuttle ENDEAVOUR
The second one is for the international space station the Canadarm from the shuttle gets the pallet loads it to the space station where the new arm unfolded connected to the station itself. Then they removed the crate.
I really badly want to know were you found this space shuttle thing I saw this at the kennedy space center but I didn’t get since I am a huge space x fan and instead I got the space x falcon heavy hat and I have been saving money so I could buy it but can you give me a website so I could bye or did you just travel for it and got if you got it online plz comment my comment and put the link in there thx.
It's um not a satellite it's a module of the international space station. Also the two seats on the flight deck was not the only ones, but it sat 4 on the flight deck and 3 to 4 people making it 7 and to 8 crew on launch. 99 percent of the time it was only 7 crew.
Small note on the crew member discussion here :); Challenger was the only Shuttle to be able to launch 8 crew members, after it's loss it's never been done :)
the problem with the shuttle program is that people remember the failures they do not remember the successes, but thats on NASA because they could have prevented both disasters.
Hey. Love the video and while I agree that this is a beautiful model, I was never a fan of the space shuttle. I get what you're saying in regards to it's purpose and I agree that the U.S. does need a space program (thanks to SpaceX we have one again). But I thought the shuttle program was a step backwards. We went to the Moon. We should be venturing further out.
Im 9 yrs old rn and i asked santa for this welll actually i asked my elf (we have 2 now :p ) i wanted WWE wrestlers and this space shuttle for Christmas (i asked politely for it)
@@sEngineer-il8im @$2000+ -- IF you can find a store that has it in stock, it's NOT a toy. It's a deferred college loan! That's over 2G's for a used display model. It's not a toy. Sorry!
The STS was cool and essential to the success of the ISS and Hubble but thats about it. It failed a as a rocket since it was extremely dangerous and expensive and it failed as a shuttle since its competition the Soviet Buran was way more capable and judging by the engines used and no SRB's much safer and cheaper. I will always love the Space Shuttle but by all means it failed.
Cool but not as cool as your Saturn V.😏 The Space Shuttle, while it could do certain unique things, was flawed. It’s reusability was to no avail since costed more money to turnaround than an equivalent expendable vehicle, almost as much an Apollo mission. Design flaws such as having the main engines on the orbiter was a mistake since they became dead weight once used, restricting payload capacity and significantly adding to its turnaround time and cost. Other design flaws like being vulnerable to falling debris due to positioning of the orbiter on the launch vehicle. Nixon funded the shuttle but not a station to shuttle to, spending most of its career flying round the Earth for 30 years. ISS came too late in its lifetime and besides, construction of ISS could be done more effectively with a heavy lift rocket instead. A lot of its innovation and design ideas came from the DynaSoar programme anyway. Buran Energia while copying the shuttle was of much better design and performance. In all, while the shuttle provided NASA with a vehicle for 30 years, it restricted NASA from doing anything else.
such and awesome piece Danoby... congrats and thanks for sharing

That isn’t a communications satellite! It’s a multi-purpose logistics module used to resupply the International Space Station
It should connect to the airlock, not be at the aft.

I believe it's the Leonardo multi-purpose logistics module (MPLM)
The Shuttle mostly in most places, but most of them landed either in Cali, or Florida. The other, once at White Sands
I want to have this space shuttle for me. Danoby is the manufacturer.
same thing, In which country did you buy it and store I need to know and the rocket the video was amazing I'm going to like it
Yea they landed at Edwards Air Force base in the San fransisco Bay Area
That was the second landing spot. The first one is in cape Canaveral Florida.
hey did you see the tether nasa footage ? its very interesting

No, it did not always land in California but it did land in California when there was bad weather in Florida. 🚀🚀🚀

Right now you are looking at 1.5K used and 2 to 4K new.
