I always recommend Sony mirrorless Cameras, new or used, fx you can get a Sony NEX-7 for a low price and there are so many Lens options for the E-mount system.
Had this E600 camera a number of years ago ....my first 4/3 camera with 2 lenses ...bought it for 550 CADS open box sale at FUTURE SHOP now BEST BUY .....had it for 1 year and sold it for 600 to someone that used it for baby photography
Pentax Q is fun, but it's hard to get a selection of the lenses without spending a lot, and it does poorly in low light/high ISO situations. Does well in good light, though. Also, I envisioned it as cool to shoot with adapted film camera lenses, but, with its 5.53 crop factor, even a 28mm lens becomes a telephoto. I got an adapter so I could shoot with 8mm movie camera lenses, like I saw in a Fotodiox video (I think it was), but then found that none of my 8mm lenses had a focus mechanism.
Hey Rob, noticed that OMD is no longer selling any Pen cameras. The E-PL10 is featured on their website, but oddly it's not for sale. Nor is B&H showing any current Pens. I think OMD killed the line. What do you think? I also noticed that used Olympus Pen-F digitals are listed on ebay for more than I paid for mine new!!
I think the only Pen in production right now is the E-P7. But it's not sold in the USA. Mostly Japan. Yeah, the Pen-F is crazy high. Along with many others.
@@RobTrek Also, you can't get a Pen F repaired. The EVF is going on mine and support tells me they no longer are importing parts to the US. If anyone knows how to get it repaired (legitimately), I'm all ears. I did check with an independent repair shop and he thought he knew what was wrong with it but said he can't fix it if he can't get parts for it. Just sad. Using the dirty diaper method isn't nearly as much fun. And it makes me wonder about buying a new OM Systems camera, even as much as I like the m4/3 format.
@@hallmerle I bought a 2nd PenF a while back in case something ever happened to my 1st one. This was before the huge price increases. As for getting another OM, the used prices for most of them are heavily discounted. So like most electronics, it's usually cheaper to replace than repair.

I agree, everyone is waiting for new pen f and also Lumix gx8 successor.

Great little camera!

It's fun to experiment. But that crop factor is a pretty big hurdle.
