I have been trying to compare a 2 years sales data, month to month variance.
what is a good method to use in Excel to accomplish such a trend with thousands of sales data. Other word, I'd like to show the variance in sales between Jan 2010 and Jan 2011 so on for the whole 11 months.

This is kashif irfan I have a question if in pivot table row labels I have multi city and column I have sum of month sales and in grand total column I want average but monthly show sum of sales
Say you don't have sales but a tickets. The table will count the tickets for you but how do you do calculated fields with count in there are no numbers in your data set but the dates
