Hey look buddy, I'm a Borderlands 2 | OP 10 ENGINEER AXTON BUILD!!! (Breakdown and Gameplay). That means I solve problems, not problems like "What is beauty?" Because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems, for instance: how am I going to stop some mean mother Hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous be-hind? The answer, use a gun, and if that don't work... Use more gun. Take for instance this heavy caliber tripod mounted lil' old number designed by me, built by me, and you best hope... Not pointed at you.
Real good video! This would probably be taken to new heights on console since Axton's turret does more damage there for some reason. This game just never makes sense but that's a part of why we love it! Shoutout to Hugo for making the skills not 10p 🙏
The reason grit works so well is that while health gated, every time you get hit, assuming the damage of the hit is higher than your sliver of health (which is always is), you have a chance to activate grit meanwhile you take no actual damage. So if you get shot a bunch while gated you get a bunch of chances to activate grit which can make it practically guaranteed in certain cases.
Dude great video. I’ve been saying for years that the turrets actually can do damage and kill in OP10. Honestly I will try out this build myself. The nuke definitely did a lot more damage then I thought and plus that stagger is a big part why this build worked so well.
@@Jarrad-t3i people don’t realize if the enemies are staggered and can’t shoot at you, you don’t get health gated 😂😂😂. Hope you enjoy testing out the build yourself
The Logan's Gun is so good. Miq did a video ranking all the unique pistols and he said he was surprised by how good it actually is. Volcano is underrated, though only Axton and Kreig can actually take advantage of it, grenade damage for Axton and fire for Krieg. I don't have much experience with the Blockhead and the roll I have is bad, but it's still good because it's the Blockhead. Quasar is a good choice, though personally I would've gone with a slag singularity, but the Quasar does strip shields. I haven't used the Big Boom Blaster yet, but the ability to regen grenades and rockets can be super useful in the heat of combat. Bone of the Ancients is good, but it's a little strange that they never made one in explosive. Nuke turret is so fun and can definitely be useful for when you're out of grenades and unable to throw singularities. I might start maxing out Steady more often, it seems to be more beneficial than having Impact maxed out. There's not much point to maxing out Quick Charge, because all you need is for your shield to be at least one capacity for absorb shields to absorb bullets or in this case booster shields to drop their boosters. Resourceful is super useful, MrTx just doesn't understand. At 5 points it reduces cooldown by 10.5 seconds so at 10 points it's 21 seconds, you can basically have the turrets up 100% of the time, when this is combined with the cooldown of the class mod itself and a Bone of the Ancients or other cooldown relic. Grit is OP, I know when maxed out it's only 20% but when there's multiple enemies shooting at you, that's multiple sources of possibly lethal damage, which I probably why it always feels more like 100%. Able is so good, it could get people to stop relying on Moxxi weapons as much. If it could stack combined with Grit, it would literally make Axton immortal. It's only one extra grenade, but it could mean the difference between dragging an enemy back to you with a singularity in FFYL to get a second wind and dying. FUN FACT: if the level cap was 83, we'd be able to hit all three capstones at once. Nuke is underrated, it can one shot weaker enemies, sometimes even when they're not slagged and can deal a good chuck of damage to some badasses and some bosses, having two makes it that much more powerful. Axton is arguably the most versatile vault hunter. He can just make so many guns and weapons work. The Veruc and Sledge's Shotgun are underrated, there are certainly better guns, but that doesn't mean they are bad. The Sledge's does have to be elemental to be good though and the Veruc, like you showed works best against wider enemies.
The thing with steady is it outperforms impact if you are using grenade and launder splash weapons. If you want to use Jakobs weapons as an example, impact would be better. However, on axton you are pretty much always using weapons with those Grenade/launcher bonuses so I just max it out. The sledges is not the best on axton as he doesn’t have crit multiplier skills. Zer0 and Maya do have those skills which makes it significantly easier to one shot enemies. And one thing I learned about the carnage is it actually has launcher splash damage like the Logan’s Gun, so speccing heavy into steady and do or die does give the gun a great boost. Which I could have shown it in either the stream or build video. Thanks for the long response, it’s always very appreciated 🫡
So I did some testing, keep in mind this is while using Legendary Soldier/Engineer Coms for the default 50% .Using a perfect bone by itself is quicker recharge than doing 10/5 resourceful. If you add the 10/5 Resourceful, it only takes it down by 4 seconds and if you don't have a classmod to boost it and only have 5/5, it'll only take it down by 2 seconds. Idk about you but 5 points for a 2 second difference doesn't seem like much to me. That's the time of just throwing two grenades to pull in the enemies. Let's say you're using an explosive relic and can't use a Bone, then you'll only get around 4 seconds off by speccing into it. The best possible case for Resourceful is when you don't have any COM or relic that boosts cooldown, in which case speccing 5/5 will give a reduction of 10.5 seconds. In this case it could be useful except usually the only time that occurs is early game, which is where it would be worst to spec into as the right skill tree is typically the worst to do early game.
@@St4rkiller04 Also I hate to be the bearer of bad news again, but guns with "Launcher splash" don't actually benefit from Axtons launcher damage skills. This game never seems to be consistent but yeah, so the carnage doesn't get any benefits from Steady, Do or Die, or Grenadier COMs (unless you count the impact boost)
@@mrtx01 the carnage one makes sense, I just thought to comment it as I didn’t even know the carnage was launcher splash in the first place. For resourceful I would want to test it my self but you could be right. Thanks for your input and hope you enjoyed the video 👊
@@St4rkiller04 Guns with launcher splash proc Blood Bath 100% of the time though so very good on Krieg! Luckily axton still does enough damage through everything else that he's still great with the carnage
Finally someone advocating for Nuke like I do... It's not for the sake of its 'damage' output, it's actually a really good displacement and crowd control tool AND if you use it first, the enemies will aggro the turret FIRST, and not you. AND... it TAKES aggro away from you if they ARE attacking you... I will always love Nuke for it's crowd control utility.
