Saddle Tees are an easy solution for tapping into poly tubing for your irrigation and are widely used by professional installers. No Tools or Cutting is required for installation.

I have used both styles. In the field you can't manipulate the pipe to easily make the yellow/ blazing latch onto the pipe and I always had to use pliers to pinch it on and again in the field you can't get a good look at it to be sure it is fully locked in place. The orange / Dawn Kwik tap is my preference by far. No tools, no guesswork and I have never seen one slip, break or leak. I will be using 115 of them on an upcoming install.
Great point! I agree, not seeing the connection under the pipe can leave doubt. Send pics of your upcoming project I’d love to see. -Andy
Thank you! Great info
My pleasure
I used to use the ones with a hinge on one side and screw on the other. This was some time ago when I was installing sprinklers. I had an idea that it would be good to use a saddle tee instead of a line t. I made a sketch because I didn't know they already existed. When I found out that they did, I began using them
Great story, Robert! How did the hold up over time?
Locked the saddle before I got it on the pipe. How do you unscrew it?
Not sure the answer. Report pack on your findings!
Do they come in 1/2 for 1/2 poly
Hi Juan. 3/4" is the smallest saddle size. This is likely because 3/4" PVC/Poly pipe is the smallest lateral pipe used to feed sprinklers, which is the main purpose of the saddle (to speed up installation time).
Oh ok.. I’ll be ordering some saddles in the coming days. Thank you
