All of my sprinkler heads are attached directly to the distribution PVC pipe via risers, and several are stuck at an angle. The funny pipe / flex pipe connection is clearly the better way to do it, since I can move the head or rotate or angle it exactly where I want it instead of needing to connect to a fixed attachment point (which may be tilted away from vertical). Thanks!
Nice! Two questions please: 1) I have my garden tap marked as 1/2" - what size of PVC pipe should I use to get water from the tap to pop-up sprinklers? 2) What type of irrigation should I use for flower beds: pop-up sprinklers or drip hoses? The beds are ground level, along the fence (about 3-4 feet wide and 26 feet long).
Apologies for taking a while to reply! From what I understand, you mean a hose spigot? If so, we wouldn't really use a hose spigot as a valve for a zone. We would use a valve, probably an automatic valve and connect it to a timer. So in order to connect that, we would probably cut the hose spigot out, and use the PVC pipe as our starting point. Hope that helps a bit. It depends on what you need! Drip hoses are EXTREMELY accurate. If your flower beds have a few flowers and you can get a drip line to drip specifically on those flowers, then that would generally be the more water-wise option. You only water the plant you want to. Pop-ups are easier, and less water efficient, and water the entire area. So it depends on what you need! In general - lots of flowers = use pop-ups. Few flowers = Drip Line!
Great video! Is your 1 inch poly the same as what is usually used for drip lines or is it different? I have trees and bushes I need to maneuver around so if I could use drip hose as my main line on top of the droid but under the bushes, that would be such a relief! Can you please specify what the poly is - or a link to the exact product so I get the right stuff? Thank you!
funny pipe length should not exceed two or three feet due to excessive pressure loss. for longer lengths should use one inch from exisiting head then use funny pipe for the last foot or so to place head in correct position

Thank you very much. This is helpful when you're at lowes looking at a million different parts
Glad it was helpful!
I hear "funny" pipe is the same as todays "Flex" Pipe which makes more sense.
Thank you. Very informative video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very good video, I was wondering how can you cap a funny pipe if you are not using a sprinkler anymore
What if your plan is to have 8 sprinklers straight across about 5 to 6 feet between each other
Dude reminds me of Napoleon dynamite

I've used 3/4 in PVC pipe
Questions: 1) Funny Pipe vs PVC Pipe?; 2) When should one use Funny Pipe vs PVC Pipe? ; and 3) When should one use PVC pipe vs Funny Pipe?
What is so humorous about this pipe?

I wouldn’t recommend using a drip line as a main line
If your funny or has a fitting in it. Can you carefully use a heat gun to remove the fitting?

Very informative, thanks and blessings!
