@@LotrisLovanna It was a theory before this episode. People pointed out the trash and stuff. Others said they were just looking at it too hard and it was supposed to be funny... This offered conclusive proof.
A lot of people think of this episode like a bunch of crazy randomness as usual with the lore drop at the end, but really all of the antics on the tapes beforehand go to show you just how far this mans mind has slipped away from him. He even says, I feel like I'm on a hamster wheel constantly running in the same place, because he quite literally is. Many people with dementia live in the same loop day after day, its a torturous existence . The beginning of the tapes just go to show you how sad he really is given what he used to be
It’s always so wild to go back and remember that the episode that changed it all, that changed my perspective on this whole show, was a Christmas special three seasons in 😂
That Ice King origin story in the end was my favorite part besides the usual funny Ice King moments! Nice reaction video! Tom Kenny is always hilarious voicing the Ice King!
It begins. Now I can't wait for them to get into the REALLY good lore of Adventure Time. Shame they didn't realize that the snow only happened after the plane went by. Nuclear winter.
@@sword4005 It's never implicitly stated, but it's heavily implied over the series that the world of Adventure Time is actually our Earth after recovering from a world ending war. That's why you see a lot of human garbage around in the backgrounds and destroyed buildings and cities, but for most of the series, Finn is thought to be the only human. Later on in more of the episodes about Simon and Marceline's past, they assume they are the only two human survivors before Marceline turns into a vampire. In the one episode it even shows mutated beings that are the precursors to the modern candy people, and clearly they are oozing green toxic waste. It's all built up in context clues.
@@MysticJhn yeah i know all that, i just meant this scene Nuclear winter and not just Simon generating snow, the other eps make it clear its post mushroom war, i figured this scene was from during the war or just before it started
It’s a bit early but Merry Christmas & here is a present 🎁 some surprising information about our favorite character the Ice King … or should I say Simon Petrikov - What happens to Ice King is similar to Gollum from the Lord of the Rings franchise while also having some aspects from Mr.Freeze from Batman the animated series - The title design & outline of the title references to A Charlie Brown Christmas while the title card shows Finn in a Christmas sweater, Jake in a Jewish hat & scarf, & BMO setting traps outside the chimney possibly waiting for the Ice King to come down - When Ice King & Gunter are in the forest for target practice this is a reference to William Tell who had to shoot an arrow into an apple on his son’s head - When the 2 are watching the tapes you can see there are Christmas-themed foods like Figgy Pudding and rolls - When Finn says "What does it mean?" is maybe a reference to Jack Skellington from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas - Notice when Ice King enters the tree there is a poster which seem to be a man wearing a badge similar the ones in the Star Trek franchise
Hello my name is simon petrikov. These 6 words change everthing in adventure time 😢
"and maybe Betty my princess... Maybe you will love me again"
That too@@TheyCallMeDio
Chills every time man
Ice King is, unironically, among the most tragic characters in AT. You've gotten a glimpse of that this episode.
I'm pretty sure this episode was also the FIRST glimpse into that and ice king's tragic history
a lot of people gloss over him getting the crown in Scandinavia, as in, a place that actually exists in our present day
This episode provided proof about a long standing theory. Adventure Time is Earth after an apocalypse.
T-theory?

Simon Petrikov becoming Ice King is, I believe, a metaphor for Alzheimer’s and / or dementia.
Now... the real show begins

oh yes, *_THAT_* episode, the one who changed how fans looked at the show
Betty, my Princess breaks me everytime
And that was only the beginning of Ice King’s story!
And now we know why ice king kidnapping princess now, he still wants to find "his princess" betty.
It’s always so wild to go back and remember that the episode that changed it all, that changed my perspective on this whole show, was a Christmas special three seasons in 😂
Ice King keeps kidnapping princesses because Simon wants to find his Princess

When it comes to any episode of adventure, Time that talks about Simon is always really good.
This is the game changer
The lore bomb was insane
Great reaction!
Quite the reveal!

i always assumed it was simon using the crowns that caused the snow

Pretty much from here on out, the entire tone of the series changes and gets good
Banger of an episode and Ice King's origins!
wait a minute isn’t 30°C quite hot?
Hot for the environment, but very cold for a person’s body temp.
@@Vincent-ni8fn Yeah I forgot that it was for his internal body temp; definitely much too low when concerning the body.
Whoops
More ADVENTURE TIME! you spoil us, also can I just say I love Marceline's story so much shes defiantly my favorite character.

Weird that Marceline just stays outside at the end.
