Got this for xmas. Built it xmas evening, flew it boxing day. Bit all over the place but still in one piece. Tip on build, if you cannot attach esc leads to motor (very short), the plastic cover over the motor comes off easily. 30 secs to glue back on afterwards. Took me an hour to figure that out 😊😊. Andy in uk.
Good tip!
I have one of these in a box in the closet. Its in the queue and Im pretty excited about it!
You wont upset us calling it a helicopter its a wonderful halfway between fixed and rotary wing flying. We would still love to teach you how fly a proper helicopter. Its great to see you enjoying it. Nice landing .
Congrats, your area having allot more success with yours than I have had with mine - 8 attempts =8 disasters 😢
Excellent Don, well flown.I''d like to see a video where it's flown nice and slow in a controlled manner in flat calm conditions. We've got a load of gyronuts on our FB group who are interested in these but have yet to see a video showing off its true slow speed potential, in at close quarters with zero wind. They'd sell like hot cakes then I'm sure.
Np. Will do that next time out 😉
Excellent Don, look forward to it mate 👍
Ýeah.. that´s a Juan de la Cierva´s invention.. nice!
Nice flying. A couple of guys in our club have them. Not one successful flight yet. Several crashes.
You need a gyro licence to fly one - a manned one that is.
I’ve had a couple of the original version from when they were first released. They’re huge fun and can be aerobatic, loops no problems. However there is a caveat….the flex plate on the head was the weak point and after a few loops it would fracture and shed a blade (or two), which could be entertaining. 😊
That said I’d have another in a heartbeat.
Loops! Really? Will have to try that
be very careful if you do try loops the fixed pitch blades wont like it and highly likely to fail, your may want limit to non inverted aeros
I don't think you need a license to fly a gyro copter in usa....Very cool
Would you belive this. Last week I paid £6 for a boxed one if these from a local house clearance auction😊
Something from 007
all the videos i,v seen of this are by fixed wing flyers and they fly it like a plane ,instead try flying it like a heli kill the front prop and try vertical landings, you could try on off spooling up the main rotor if drop is to fast ,its not realy got the helu set up the top rotor would have two servos for a heli swash plate setup allowing the main totor to tilt forwards and backwards giving you forwards or reverse motion none the less its a neat little machine ,i was always flying the gyro copter on a sim they,re the most agile and manoeuvrable flying machine you could possible fly loops barrel rolls turns on its own length vertical landings they are amazing
Sounds nice till you see what it is
Ugly looking thing shame no thoughts went into the aesthetics of it
Typical design for a non scale auto-gyro 🤷♂️
