I think takamura took over Ippo as the main character. He’s a really well written character but Ippo is the entire emotional focal point of the story. I just wish that Ippo got the same kind of writing and care for his character that takamura got. Ippo was the entire reason I started watching and takamura has the closest bond with Ippo in the entire show. Takamura was the person that got Ippo to box. Ippo inspired me the same way takamura inspired him, so seeing Ippo be a stagnant character recently is very frustrating. The bond between Ippo and takamura is one of the most personal to me out of any series. It almost brings tears to my eyes just to think about it. Takamura walked in and changed ippo’s life like a real life superhero or something.
