This is our 2nd video from our STREET FOOD in DUBAI series. This time we are taking you to some of the BEST local restaurants and street foods that Dubai has to offer!
We are starting the day with a delicious Egyptian hummus with beef and pine nuts and specialty foul (fava beans) at a shop called Foul w Hummus. They serve unlimited bread and a dish of pickles with the dishes. This restaurant has amazing quality food for a good price. Those that can’t afford the food can eat for free.
After breakfast, we visited the Public Beach. It is a great place to view the Burj Al Arab, but also locals and tourists visit to swim, surf and enjoy the weather. It was especially nice in December, where it wasn’t too hot.
For lunch, we visited a famous restaurant for seafood. Bu Qtair specialized in fish and prawns. The fresh fish and prawns are marinated in a mixture of spices and then are fried. They are served with rice and a curry.
Next, we head to the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world) which is one of Dubai’s top attraction. The Burj Khalifa has unobstructed views over Dubai, but is quite expensive to enter. We recommend seeing it from the base, which is free and equally awesome.
For dinner, we head to a restaurant which has a reputation for having the BEST Pakistani food in Dubai, Ravi Restaurant. There are many dishes to try, but we chose to try their dal fry, mutton Peshawari and chicken tikka. The naan served with the meal was DELICIOUS!
Finally for dessert, we wanted to try an Emirati specialty - luqaimat. Luqaimat are small balls of dough which are fried until golden brown. You can get a variety of toppings, but the traditional topping is a thick date syrup and sesame seeds. These are served across the UAE, but we visited the shop in Global Village. This isn’t the most authentic version, but it was interesting to watch the women make this dessert.

Actually, there are Christian organisations all around the world, the Salvation Army for example, that feed and house thousands of people every day and have done so for a long time. And in India, there are Hindu and Sikh temples where tens of thousands of people are fed for free every day of the year. Ask the grieving families of the 2,977 innocent people killed in the 9/11 attacks how "seriously cool" the muslims are and you might get some seriously hot responses.

The nuts on the hummus and beef is not pine nuts, they're sliverd almonds!!
It originally with pine nuts put since it expensive some places replce it with other nuts.

Hi Luke, what are the rules regarding women in Dubai? Did Sabrina have to have her arms and legs covered at all times? I know there is an issue with open displays of affection. Can you hold hands? Dubai is extremely multi cultural and Emirati and Muslim traditions and culture are not expected by foreigners to be upheld to such a degree in Dubai

It wouldn't be a fair comparison to compare Dubai (a city) to either Turkey (a country) or Istanbul. Istanbul is a city that has stood for centuries been developed by different groups in different eras including our modern era. Just saying you are comparing apples to oranges. Go to Dubai and you will see there is a lot of culture, tradition and history. It isn't a generic tourist vacation to some island beach resort. For a lot of people/tourists this will be the first time they step foot in the region. Dubai is a good place to be introduced to Islamic and Arabian culture. Hope you change your mind and give it a chance.

Everything is fake and has no roots, it may have junctions....but no true soul....it is my own personal opinion. Hey guys, im sorry to say this but you guys went to the wrong place to have luqaimat. Global village has some good Asian street food and also a huge variety of international street food options which is worth a try. But next time you guys in dubai, check-out friends cafe in ajman. They have 3 types of luqaimats the traditional one then a cheese stuffed one and chocolate stuffed one. its really good. Their location keeps changing since its a food truck, i would be more than happy to help you guys out incase you dont find it.

i know its quite old video, but i have to correct some of the information from the first meal you had, first of all its not pine nuts its almonds, then hommos is not originated for Dubai, its from the middle eastern courtiers (Palestine - Jordan - Lebanon and Syria). about the free food for needy people, its very common thing to see in Arab and Muslim countries.
Please pass me a prong and some of that fish that meal looked so good, The breakfast was just as tasty looking. Never seen pine nuts so big. Right to the dinner it just looked better and better. My god how do you keep the lbs off there. Incredible.
