My first car was one of these in red, 2002 plate, i got it at only 3 years old in 2005. I saved up my minimum hourly wages for ages to afford it. All of my peers at the age of 17 were driving clapped out old fiestas so I thought I was billy big bollocks driving this around. It was on 99,000 miles when someone drove into me in 2012. Gutted. Still the best car I’ve ever owned!
My mum has an almost identical as yours, a 2001 1,0 litre 3D with the same colour as yours. Driver and passenger airbags though but without the rear spoiler which looks nice btw. :) It has now 98000 km´s and runs like a new, no rust, no mecanical problems and starts even if it is -25C here in north. Love these things :)
I have 2002 Swirft GL Sport, 1.3 liter engine. 86 Hp. The same color, 3 doors. It s awesome..Goes like like a go-kart. I love her. She is slim but goes as f..k...:-) Greetings from Hungary. :-)
I have just bought the same colour swift, picking her up tomorrow morning. I have a mk1 mx5 so the swift is a workhorse car to replace my 06 toyota corolla d4d sr (buying a house soon) so its saving money, im sure the swift will be loyal to me. Bullet proof cars
I've a 96 with the 1.3L 4-cylinder motor. My only problem with it: Engine and transmission are great with the exception of bad MAP sensor, oil change needed and could use a rebuild despite how strongly it fires on all cylinders, however the body should already be written off. Hopefully I can get this free Swift that I found of the same model year with a 1.0L 3-cylinder motor, and if the motor is running anything shy of perfect, I'm putting my 1.3L into it. You know why? Our Canadian weather is too harsh for the low-strength construction of the 3 cylinder this vehicle offers, and as a result it's too easy to crack the block or for something else huge to detonate when it's at 180,000 km...however, my 1.3L has 244,403 KM on it and still runs so nicely, which I like.
The newer ones are crappier than the old ones. I have a '98 gls and it have an older engine, cause i didnt liked the 1.0 3 cylinder one. The older 1.3 is really fun to drive, loves to rev m8 :D
Cool....I was just in Hungary and these cars are everywhere and still in really good condition. Subscribe to my channel to see all of the other cool cars I get every week!
+Keith Gannon Iive in Hungary, and working in a Suzuki service and my job is the electric repair. Mostly is just bulb or fuse replacement, but the mechanic workers have not too many job either. We like these cars, but many of people hate them, cause is it the "poor people car" in this country. Almost every month i see one in the news as totalled... The chassis is weak, and there is no chance to survival over 100kph. But these cars are made for normal drive, not for speeding. :)
Sorry, but i bought a brand-new 1.0 GLS in the 2000 (wow, 18 years ago now) and it was utter crap. Power windows costantly broken (poorly designed rails and shitty gaskets), rear door always needed to be adjusted, strange rattles everywhere, badly mounted calipers, noisy clutch, oil leak from power steering, deformed seat frame (seats were different from the car in the video though), bolts found on the floor, shitty plastics, faulty safety belts, thin paint...it was CRAP, basically a Japanese car "downgraded" and built in Hungary for East Europe markets. Last but not least, the Hungarian-made "PERION" battery left me stranded after 2 years, basically a piece of junky designed for Communist-era trucks! Too bad because the car was brilliant, fast enough and with excellent fuel economy. But there is none of them now in Italy - lot of Nissan Micra still kickin' instead. Good car on the project, but built like a piece of shit.
@@samljones Here in the states, we went to a new body in 95 for both Metro and Swift. But I am now noticing a European plate and some countries kept the older style body on the swift until 2003. Sorry for my ignorance.

Jack Sharratt it does feel like that. Loud ass car but i love it
Do you struggle a lot on the highway? Here in spain the max speed is 120 kmh (74.5 mph).
Crutchlow13 , this is England and the limit is 70mph
A swift can go till 145 or 165 depending on the engine
why your swift has a roof spoiler ? i want it too :/
does it have power steering?
They unfortunately don't have power steering sorry about that.
some have some dont you have the eco models that have no option or the fully option gls model
i'm probably buying one soon its a white glx from 99

Keith Gannon i was looking at it a few weeks ago and also some other ones but most here in the netherlands are poorly maintained and rusty.

Lettore Entusiasta built like a piece of shit 😂 lol yours must have been dodge though like i still see these things cruising around my area in ireland
Nice try. Swift/Metro went to the then new body style in 95. This car is a 93, 94 at newest.
It’s a 2003. The ‘52’ in the number plate FH52OEB tells you that the car was manufactured and registered between September 2002 and March 2003.
