  • Is it worth saving the money and buying a 4 year old SUV instead of a new one? Today, we take a look at how well the 2016 Volvo XC90 has held up over 4 years and 32,000 miles.

    When I test drove one at a new dealership they explained the steering wheel thing. It’s actually a safety feature in case of an accident.

    you didn’t even mention that the “little 4 cylinder” is a twin charged engine with a supercharger and a turbo…and makes over 300HP. You shoulda got a screen protector for your infotainment system like a phone

    The steering wheel is not power adjustable for safety. If you crash, you have a higher chance of manually adjusting it in case you need to move it out of the way. It’s also a collapsible steering wheel column.

    This is an SUV not a sports car. You seem to forget that part in your review.

    It's manual steering wheel adjust because those do better in a major crash than an electric unit.
    You can ask a Volvo dealer to upgrade you to Pilot Assist 2 for $400 approx (£300 incl. vat) and it will keep you in the centre of the lane at up to 80mph.

    Hey I really like your videos, After I watched this video a couple a weeks ago, I decided to go and take a look to three XC90 R-Designs 2016 that were in the 2 dealers by my house, I ended up buying one with 65K miles for $31K, for $1K more I upgraded to a polestar engineered chip, which would give to the engine more HP plus more torque. For only $265.00 I was able to upgrade the car system which now has all the pilot assist features. And it has the lane keep assistance as well. I will say that so far is an awesome ride on the highway and a greatest ride while seating in traffic. Totally recommend this SUV.
    Again thank you.
    Great video.

      Congrats on your purchase! I'm glad you enjoy my content and glad my video helped you in your search for an XC90. Great all around rigs.

      what do you mean by upgrading the car system?

      @@stevenb4614 When the xc90 2016 model came out, it didn't have some of the assisted lane and stop and follows and lane departure features, it didn't have apple nor android car either.

      @@Jokerz32 how did you do the upgrade? Is it possible on all XC90 s?

    • @Jokerz32
      @Jokerz32 2 года назад

      @@stevenb4614 I understand, you can do the upgrade on any Volvo Dealership, pretty much is a software update, the most of the XC90 2016, came out with all the hardware (sensors, camera, etc).

    Volvo have manual steering adjustment as a safety thing, if you are in an accident and the care lose power you can still move the steering wheel out of the way. Also helps for the rescue team if they need to put a neck brace etc

    • @lohbut2
      @lohbut2 2 года назад

      It also has a collapsible column which makes it more difficult to coexist with a power adjustable steering wheel.

    Don’t buy a used Volvo without a warranty. I bought a certified 16 v60 and extended the warranty till 7 years/100k with Volvo warranty. The repairs will be very expensive without a warranty especially on the XC90s

      @@minwei7369, I just bought one for my 100,000 mile xc90T8 for an additional 5 years or an additional 100,000 miles with some annual service you get like 4 oil changes, tire rotaion, and other items for one time $3,700 payment. It has a $100 per claim out of pocket cost with a company called Endurance. They only sell direct to the consumer so you won't find this at a dealership. Oh, if you sell your car it's transferable.....

    I give your xc90 video review a 4 out of 10. You should at least learn the ins and outs of the xc90 and how to operate/components of the xc90 before making a review video for viewers, e.g., the facescreen, you actually don't need to touch/press on the xc90s facescreen in order to scroll through its options the xc90 has an inferred facescreen, you can just wave your finger over the facescreen the screen will respond in whatever direction you wish to view the facescreen options, for those who's worried about finger printing and scratching the facescreen. As for the xc90s engine power/response... you need to reach 3500 RPM before its Turbo will kick in. These are just some of the xc90 fixtures you've not only missed, but failed to learn up on the xc90 or just volvo vehicles in general. Thus the 4 out of 10 given for your review.
