If you continue on the same highway west past Frisco ghost town, through the Wah Wah Valley, up to the next summit you will find Picasso marble around the south side of the road cut. If you go past the summit for about a half mile a road goes north to some diggings with beautiful white, with colorful inclusions, rocks that I believe are a type of marble that sparkles. Happy hunting!

Cool finds! Here in Ontario we have a pay to dig location call the Beryl Pit that produces some decent sized well formed euxenite crystals. I have found a couple good ones so far still searching for a large whole one still.

@@CurrentlyRockhounding I did a couple years ago, ruclips.net/video/rV-RpJc5snA/видео.htmlsi=BEgnTs8VgQ51Ja2W, ignore the low quality with the many out of focus shots my videography skills where very lacking back then, the 9 min mark is when I found my best euxenite. I did actually go back again this year and found a couple including one on matrix and I am planning to release a video on that trip later this year.

Wow! You can't really see the material, in the video but when you showed it under the microscope, it was like "Oh, so that's what they were seeing!" Cool material and those little epidote crystals were so awesome! The world of micro-minerals is so amazing! That location was so abundant with cool specimens too!
Thanks Jared and Sara, for showing us the awesomeness, of micro collecting!

Many years ago one of the Rock/Gem/Mineral clubs, I'm a member of in CT, leased a quarry on private land in NY state where they hunt for Herkimer 'diamond' quartz. Over the years several sizes from 1/4" to larger sizes have been found. The club has worked thru the hard dolostone ledges from ground level to a depth of over 10 ft. x 15 irregular ft. with sledges/chisels, & sifting a subsoil/sand mix thru 1/4 inch hardware-cloth. screen over a wheelbarrow. When they finish that operation (many times), the wheelbarrow is wheeled to a subsoil/sand area way from their pit, & where other people who lease quarries on this same property, also dump their sand mixture.
Since I've had a neurological disability with my right ankle/foot, I've been unable to drive for the past 12+ years so don't vo on any rock/mineral hunts or to the Herkimer 'diamond' location.
In more recent years, a club member brought me several gallon-sized dbl-bagged plastic zippered bags of this sandy-subsoil which I have sifted thru tea strainer & finer sifters finding Herkimer 'diamonds' dbly-terminated & water-clear from 1mm to 1/4" in length, usually. Sometimes I've found other things that were buried in the sand like Anthraxolite/shiny black graphitic coal sometimes found in Herkimer 'diamonds' & sometimes found as small thin pieces in the sandy soil mix.
Still have several bags left to sift.

Was near there outside of Milford just a month ago, I love that area, and that town! Got some great Chalcopyrite, hematite, and fluorite specimens. But just three weeks before that trip I got the best thing of my entire life. Lasik! 😂 rockhounding has been exponentially better this summer because of it, highly recommend. I was beating the crap out of my prescription lenses year after year just like you, lol. Great video, thanks for the content.

These are lightweight sun shirts that keep you cooler than not having it as it keeps the sun from hitting your skin and allows air to blow right through it, keeping you cool.
We have been happy with them so far and they seem to work really well for staying cool it the desert sun.

Love your expertise and videos on rocks etc. However the micro-mineral specimens were about as ugly as a rock can be! 😉 Personally I'm drawn to patterns and colors, but that's me. The scenery was awesome and as you noted, you could probably find similar interesting things in all them thar hills? I love St George and the surrounding areas. So much to find within 6 hrs roundtrip. 👍💖
