When my mother made tuna melts back in the late 60s early 70s she mixed the tuna with cream of mushroom soup and some chopped bell pepper. It was pretty good.
I've been obsessed with tuna melts since I was like 13. I add S&P, add tons of garlic powder, mix in mayo, banana peppers, and red wine vinegar. Fresh spinach, provolone cheese, mustard, and sometimes feta❤❤❤

Try to get ahold of some Duke's mayo. Hellman's and Duke's constantly battle it out around where I live, and most people have a very strong opinion on which is better. It's basically the Coke vs Pepsi of the mayo game. And Miracle Whip is considered to be a salad dressing
If you cook the other tuna in a pan with a little bit of oil, you can use that just like the canned. So good. Don’t use miracle whip. If you want some sweet flavor add sweet pickle relish.

The key to making good tuna fish is make the sauce n mix the veg FIRST only add the tuna n mix lightly at the end this helps keep the can tuna from tuning into mush

Oh here ya go "THE BEST EVER" miracle whip salads. 2 cups macaroni uncooked 1 cup Miracle Whip ½ cup mayonnaise 2 tablespoons horseradish mustard or spicy brown 1 cup sugar or ½ cup sugar and ½ cup Splenda ¼ cup water ¼ cup brown vinegar 2 teaspoons celery salt 1 tablespoons onion powder 2 teaspoons garlic powder dried parsley I use a handful. salt to taste 3 hard cooked eggs diced
You can get pretty decent, tuna, canned or jarred just look for the stuffing in olive oil. And yes, it’s more money than the cheap crap but the upgrade is significant.
