My husband have a routine when we board.
1. Find a seat by the entrance to watch people boarding, everyone is so happy.
2. Get a cocktail to drink while people watching
3. Wipe down stateroom
4. Unpack
5. Muster drill
6. Freshen up
7. SAIL AWAY PARTY 🎉

THE CHAT APP IS A MUST!!!! My brother wouldn't purchase it on our last cruise and there were times where it was IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with him since he was the only family member who didn't get it. He was safe and all was fine, but some moments were so frustrating since we had to "hunt" him down on the ship. For 5 dollars, it's worth it!

I didn't know about the chat app. All y years cruising didn't know this existed. Thanks for this nugget. I usually put the kids in camp and they give me a cell phone I can use on board so usually there are phones around the ship you could use to call cabins or certain areas on ship. I would have my older kids find these phones and call me to see where I am but the chat app is more convenient.

Yes about the roaming charge one of my family members went on a cruise and ended up with a$600 phone bill, we've been cruising for 17 years we love it, would have been 18 but we did Royal one year ✌️🙏💜

Good list. One of the things I do when we drop off our stuff and put away in the safe is to make a short list of the extras, I would like from the room Steward. Extra 2 pillows, 1 extra towel in the shower (I need one for the hair) and a sharps container for my needles that I use for my medication. I will leave this on the bed or hand it to them if I happen to see them. It's a timesaver for both you and the steward. Thank you for sharing :)

I just came across a couple of your videos last night, and I must say that these are very very helpful! This will be my second time ever taking a cruise in a couple of weeks. My first one was in 2011, so yes, I’m still a “newbie” when it comes to cruising. Lol Thank you both so much for the tips and suggestions. Your videos put me a little more at ease. 😊😊😊

Regard the second tip, we normally just use WhatsApp, Signal, or any other free or pay (one time payment) messaging app to communicate while on board. It’s a one time payment, most are free, vs having to pay Carnival $5 every cruise. (Assuming each person has the WiFi package)
Have reservations on Valor out of New Orleans at the end of October, first time on a cruise and in New Orleans as an adult
This was a very informative video I enjoyed watching and listening too. You are so right about all the things you should do once you are on board. I don't purchase the chat app because I have What's app. However, I believe the chat app may be better. I don't think you would need wifi to use it. Also, I like to visit the dinning room I am going to eat in because I do like a good sitting area near the window. I ask the Maitre D where my party is sitting and if I am not a fan of the area I would ask if we can change it.

I board my first cruise on Carnival Breeze July 28th and I am super excited 😆 and anxious 😬 lol I literally had NO idea of the process, the do’s the don’t, what to bring, what not to bring etc. then I came across y’all videos!!!! 😭 OMG! It was such a game changer for me! I’m traveling with my family and we will be about 18 people deep so watching your videos gave me all of the details I needed to know and have made it a lot easier! Instead of calling carnival being on a long hold! I just look at y’all videos for the answers! Thank you sooooo much! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
