The amount of salary one gets cannot be used to justify corruption. It is like saying that robbery with violence is okay because of unemployment. The problem with the Kenya's public service is greed and laziness. People want to get rich but they don't want to work. I think Kenya will need a vigilante to start hunting down anyone accused of corruption because the government is an accomplice.
wish Tanzanian journalists were fearless like the Kenyans one, one love to my neighbors (kenya ) kutoka Tanzania
we have great journalists,u have a great president!
a great what. wish they would tell you the reality
kevo higz can't be great when always jailing your oppositional and don't want to be criticized, "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence " if you ask me he's okay president not great
Dan Njoroge may people I met think we've the great president, but the reality we don't
Tracy Justice wish ua president was ours +254
while travelling in Matatus i have tried going against the grain of corruption but my fellow passengers have looked aside. We need to support each other to fight corruption...Have we forgotten in Unity is Strength?
Thank you for saying the reality boss
We elect according to level of corruption
As the spokesman put it, the fix needs to be societal not just targeting the police force despite their direct linkage to the rot. Borrowing from the Zusha campaign in the very same matatus, Juliani's "Huyo!" can be a corruption targeted call to action for us the people when we witness it. Small behavioral nudges to bring about change albeit in the longer term.
Great series. Extremely courageous. Asante.
This is the out come of medìocre leaders .......i love the courage you have my jounalist just get everything to light... thambs up brother
We sit in a society which elects leaders after they have been bribed.
A society that fights a good person, a person that has integrity and wants to do things the right way.
VERY TRUE
losike Dickens 👏👏👏
I salute you for bravery and openning up everything and help me understand how to effect change...am doing wat I can in my environment to kill this bribery and take back my country..I will fail today, tomorrow bt not forever.I love you Kenya
it is not only police force doing this..i was a banker in kenya..my son got sick i tried to talk to my boss officer in charge of dept i was assigned..he told me in my 3 month old in this office you don't need salary advances for ksh 2000. so asked what do i do ?he referred me to his Doctor friend this doc gave me a prescription receipt in the evening on the day my prescription was approved and processed for payment..1 year later i needed money and did it again if u are a banker u know what i am talking about 7yrs later i was among the group that was retrenched..my point is to new police officers and new bankers please follow the rules and helpt kenyans..i was not alone but life was not easy i was misled by people who end up betraying you for what they showed to you..thanks to my jesus never left town.. and sent me to another land..don't bribe anyone..thank you
Miguna has my vote. Always points the truth
Wow, I thought this is only happens in Nigeria. I guess my Kenyan counterparts are facing the same issues.
The truth must be told regardless how bitter it is.
Haha Owino is a true spokesman. Shifting the blame onto the passengers
'the dog ate my homework!"
hahahaahha he's protecting "his" kind.
this is true we get the leaders we deserve we need to elect good leaders and protest to demand change
Why are people shocked? This has been happening for the longest time.
ALLAN WALLAI U DID A WONDERFUL JOB KEEP IT UP
Thumbs up for bringing this to light. This is happening in the daylight, just that (we) are not courageous enough to tell this out.It doesn't feel right having this much corruption in the country.Am bitter,i feel bitter whenever i see this happening. They(corrupt officers) usually feel like they are untouchable on our roads and are therefore entitled to the bribes. So sad.So sad.
shout out to @Juliani too !!! bless up John on this amazing pieces, open Kenyans eyes!
hope this coverage gets to every kenyan ...iko shida sana
This really makes me feel very sad..We all need to do something as a Nation..
Thanks Allan for showing us this..God bless and protect you!
Well done John Allan. Three years later we need a follow up...are these officers still in the police force? Were they punished?
Who is watching with me here in Doha ?
Jonah Lowoyan hahaha ukweli
This is my favorite channel now, even though we all know it happens its shocking to see it still. I think its time for John Allan to get a bodyguard, this fools will be soon after him.
This should be a programme at 8.05 pm in major stations. Ma-inspector Fisi wamulikwe.
keep up allan....u my hero
great documentary !!! keep up the good Work!!!!
"A society that elects leaders after they have been bribed"....kwisha maneno
good job allan...i love yr work
Corruption is every where in kenya inside the Police station and even at the Court, so where will our police men take u when your arrested???? To REMOVE corruption we have to start from the TOP not from the BOTTOM !!!!
thats the reason why the fare is high to cater for police
What its not known is the public way of life, this are things are supposed to be taken care by all
i wish it was possible for you to get comments from Inspector general of police J Boinett as well as the Police commission chair Bw Kavuludi.
This should air on mangangas or this public vehicles with screens
This is a big demon that has been terolism Kenyan may God deliver our people from this demon it is so sad and let us fear God and do the proper thing
i think giving a bribe should also be made a crime and severe punishment imposed.Because we tend to focus more on the receiver than the giver. Both are guilty. And as citizens we should never allow corruption.......from matatus etc
those matatus in Rwanda look very clean, compare with what we have here in Kenya
Kali mbaya.. Una ambia mtoto wako asikue hawker na school fees yake ili lipwa na hawker.
wooooow the strong quote about bribe 12:52
Huko kwetu in Kiambaa/zambezi after Sigona, its tithe collection at 7 , 11. lunch hour and in the afternoon.
2:13 anazeeka.
Reminds me of when i landed at J.K.I.A n my bro came to pick me up but parked at the wrong place n the cops came by asking for lunch .if it were in Sydney they would guide u to the right place to park
Same thing happened to me. I had actually missed a flight. My husband and I were confused and anxious and parked on the first spot we could find. They wouldn't hear any of it and demanded a bribe or they would have the car towed. All this while am stressed out about missing my flight and just about crying. I hated that experience and hated them for their lack of empathy and compassion.
I really want to know what happened to all those officers who have been exposed in this Four part segment. Where are they? Was action taken? Si basi the national police watulipie hii deni ya China
And the names of the Cops on the Vid are from one ethnic group right?
Why cant we start a Movement. Institutions and agencies mandated to fight this crimes have failed, who will liberate us if we don't do it ourselves??
Well, they bribed their way into the police force anyway, why would we expect any less? We are so deep into this, it feels so hopeless.....
This country need a clean up from citizens to public servants if the common mwanainchi will refuse to give a bribe then we will continue to the better
Asking a politician for solutions to the same problems they create daily inside parliament is a big joke,, passing laws that are so punitive and giving unparatable freedom to harass anyone who doesn't give bribe, our neighbours in Tanzania have the best rules ,that's the the sport tickets not exceeding 3000, but here in kenya no one can afford to spend a day in court and end up paying over 30k ,,every section with a speed limit theres a camera unlike kenya, and our neighbours are overtaking us with good governance,,
and what is the police salary of a policeman in rwanda compared to kenya policemen
It saddens me that up to this level,no one is giving a hope of this corrupt police's punishment. They are just playing blame games. That police spokesman is supposed to give a solution and not being part of the problem itself.
Stop Corruption in Africa..
I guess da only reason we cn finish this is starting frm da big fish to b accounted for the Up bottom not Bottom up...
wajaluo yawa!
I just fear that John Allan Name is doing too much good that somebody may want to hurt him. It's very risky!!
I think everyone here in Kenya has had a loved one tragically killed in an unavoidable accident. This petty corruption is killing us
It's the government system who trained them hw to terrorise civilian, hw do you expect to pay a family men 200 us dollar monthly,20 thousand kenya money ? And not take bribery.
No house 🏡
Food
Clothes always in in danger
Mr police spokesman plz stop dancing around the question on the table, you always give answers to support the police even when they are wrong
i cry for your life young boy,pls take care of yourself otyherwise your head might taste THE HOT CHROME VANADIUM
Simon Wachira He needs to watch his back...he could easily disappear
Our prison are full, and most of them will bribe their way out. What can we do? We need to bring sheria law accompanied with it punishment in addition we either need a ruthless dictator as a leader eliminate every corrupt individual in public and private office, they did with Mugiki.
The corruption chain needs to be investigated, the cops on the street give a cut to their seniors
boss mtu achukue hongo peke yake then mnarushia wakenya ngori ati voters....... PK umesema kitu 90 ays ndani wakicheki hiyo story
tupa wote ndani alipe
seems like Rwanda is the only sane country in Africa.
Nahama kenya niende rwanda 🇷🇼 kenya corruption haitawai isha 😢
Owino will never accept blame. Everything bad about police diverted to other things like voters, passengers, observers, pedestrians. Isn't it the duty of the police to maintain law ama hyo kazi ilipewa wananchi lini?.
There is almost no honor in public service in Kenya. Damn shame
The whole system of government is corrupt like father like son too bad for common mwanaiji
Poor Kenya! They need to be sacked!
maybe the govt will fix it
To be honest you can judge me all you want, There's no way I will be paid peanuts, while watching Greedy politicians become billionaires overnight.
Allan if you want to fight corruption, begin with senior politicians. His Excellency our Beloved President Uhuru began the fight, but he later realized he is fighting alone 😃😃. The lifestyle audit accountability of politicians was scrutinized on arrival. Let our officers be.
shame on us kenyans rwanda is growin fast dan us let us unite nd we will b big nd sucessful big time
Just put tolls up and have a ticket system like the rest of the first world.
I think the most plce they gone and disturb these police officers and take bribe day and night 24/7 it's in Eastleigh I wish u could came here and see them
D+ FAILURES IN KENYA POLICE
JOHN ALLAN NAMU IS HOT UUUI
f... courrption
Evil!
the police spokesman should stop shifting the blame on the society. he knows that the loot reaches his pockets.
peter kenneth has a point bt miguna is talkin nonsense
in your narration, you should have said traffic police. Police stand for AP, GSU, and Kenya police. I can only see traffic police buddy.
Aaaaah weh Allan ata wewe... do you! Our country is growing...slowly but still growing! You're growning! Live and let live! These guys are trynna survive
Criminals in police department
Inspector Fisi, you are targeting a police officer who takes 50 bob while leaving behind those who take hundreds of millions. How do you think those leaders with a salary of ksh 1.6M have been able to buy hotels worth KSH 7 B?Is it practical?
Jared Nyakomitta corruption is a corruption no matter how small or big in a year the police get up to 5B ksh
Jared Nyakomitta , Do you know the billons of money Waiguru stole was collected in form of 1 ksh from tax, You want to tell me that they take only 50sh a day? ??!!! Anyway you are entitled to your own opinion
bad
let the police be.....blame the giver
is nasa genuine to fight corruption? if yes let raila come clear for accusing mudavadi for golden burg, all of us know what he said relating to that matter period.
