Sure, the game has changed, and there is now such a huge emphasis on formations, thus making today's era the most competitive ever IMO, but the previous era allowed for so many magical moments that are dearly missed. Or in short: the era of Ronaldo Nazario/Ronaldinho/Zidane/Beckham was just so much more fun to watch. Everybody just let loose, and actual magic was created on the pitch. I will always look back fondly to this era.

Yeah I am not so old, I actually grew up with both eras then...but I prefer that era than the current one. The current one is more competitive but less pure. The previous one was more magical. The present era is all about stats and mathematics, the previous one was actually about art.
My hero R9's explosiveness is completely gone here, but still untouchable!! Dinho was an absolute joy to watch! Football just felt more pure and organic back then.
