Simple I like it! When you add more accessories it really becomes cumbersome. Keeping it altogether makes the process simpler, reminds me of the way I’d just go out and shoot with a 7D vintage 50mm and a tripod
i wish BM would release two pockets like the gh5 series, one for minimalistic run and gun IBIS, and the other fully fledged vid cam for rigging. I'd be all over a pocket with ibis and this long awaited dual battery grip, thats an untouchable run and gun setup.
That would be really awesome! I could see them doing something like this, especially since they implemented a "VLOG" styled record button on the Pocket. I just don't see it happening anytime soon, or ever lol! Who knows!
Thank you Josh! It's so nice not having to worry about anything else but your body and lens. Allows you to grab quick an unexpected shots, do it my friend!
Thanks for the great info from your no rig experience. Could you please add the description of the lenses and camera settings over the footage? Maybe next time? Enjoy the videos a lot!!
Absolutely! I can start doing that on certain videos, I liked the minimalistic vibe of this video so I decided to keep the frames uncluttered with text, but next video where it feels right I can definitely do that!
beautiful shots, really like the softer look! only thing I rig up on m, BMPCC4K is a shotgun mic when needed, haven't used any cage/rig so far and works good👌
Finally , some footage of BMPCC handheld. thanks Spencer. Do you think the focus will work similar to kraig adams' videos if I mount the bmpcc on a tripod, and walk in front of it?
@@SpencerWhiteman Your frames, your editing are nice, and you are one of the very few users of the Pocket 4K to use it naked without any accessories, while in forums it is the one who will show the biggest, the most expensive rig ... It's absurde! For me the camera must be one with the person who films ... I just add an old viewfinder Zacuto Z finder, because with both hands and the viewfinder against the eye it is 3 points and I gain stability (I only use Stabilized Lumix lenses) and a Switronix Powerbase 70 Battery Pack, which improves grip and avoids changing internal batteries too often ... I have some other rushes to be edited, but with the pocket 2K already shot handled !!! : vimeo.com/126689941
I was using a Sandisk 128GB Extreme Pro. The older 95MB's version! Pretty sure I can get away with 8:1 Compression maybe even in 60p without any issues or dropped frames.
@@SpencerWhiteman I'ver read the other day on a forum that 4k60 8:1 braw is pretty much handled without dropping using the 95MB Extreme Pro-s. You can just grab an 1TB version and record almost as long as you want without rigging an SSD with cables which is very sketchy imho.
@@Mrjordansfunnyvids What is your problem? The adapter not fully making the connection so iris control is unavailable? Sometimes that happens to me and it is annoying. I typically just take the lens off of the viltrox and re-attach and it pops up after a second.
Great idea. And thank you so much for not posting just the slow motion footage as everybody has done. Love the micro shakes!
Thank you Nakul! I've been loving simple real time 24fps lately.
Nakul totally agree with you. I am so tired of slow motion footage. With slow motion you can't tell the most important thing for me motion cadence
Wow Amazing.... Some of the best BMPCC4k footage thus far, The color, the texture everything felt movie like to me.
Thank you, my friend, that means a lot!

trying to decide between bmpcc4k, s1h, and eva1! I need IBIS and I wish bmpcc had it!
Beautiful shots and grading man! I am headed to the UK soon and I'm ditching the cage and everything. Just camera, batteries, lens and memory cards.
Thank you Tyler! It will be so freeing my friend, look forward to seeing some footage!
This looks great! The right amount of grading.
Thank you Patrick! I appreciate that!
Very nice Spencer! Been wanting to do this myself, just walk around the streets with body and lens only 👌🏻

Great shots! We shoot with the BMPCC4K for our RUclips content as well. Love it as a run and gun camera. Keep up the great content.
Thank you my friend, I appreciate it!

I'm thinking about rigging up a mic to my setup as well, would be perfect for doc work!
I like filming the same way man! Good results. Enjoyed this vid.
Thank you, my friend! Love the username btw!
Spencer Whiteman 😊 appreciated! Started the channel when I was shooting only with the BMPCC. Getting back to staying true to that.

Nice video! What was the frame rate and shutter speed here?
Nikodem Bartnik Hey there! I used a 180 degree shutter angle at 24 FPS.
Nice. Did you use a speedbooster to help with your crop factor, or just a basic "dummy" adaptor? Footage looks great.
Thank you my friend! I did, I used the Viltrox EFM2.
nice footage! what music did you use here? I really like it.
Thank you! Oof, it's been so long, all's I know is that I sourced it from Artlist.
@@SpencerWhiteman thanks a lot
Any colour correction applied?
Yessir. A simple Buttery LUT rec 709 conversion and then minor contrast and WB adjustments from there. All in PP.
très beau / very nice
Thank you Didier!

Are those footage from Windsor, Ontario?
It sure is!
@@SpencerWhiteman I had never seen Windsor under the lens of a cinema camera. Thank you for the video
does this camera have to have an adapter to use the sigma 18-35?
It sure does, it uses the Sigma Mc-21 adapter, or at least that is the model adapter I use.
did you use a speedbooster with those glasses?
Sure did. I used the Viltrox EF-M2!
@@SpencerWhiteman does. the focus assist button work with the voltrox or. no ??
@@tayanemehdi Sorry about the delay, yes, it sure does.
nice vid man! How many batteries u have used for this video?

Great Video mate. Did you shoot all of it handheld?
Thanks man! Most of it was shot handheld, then some on a pair of sticks!

@@SpencerWhiteman did you use post stabilization?
Is your sd card, uhs-ii? Or can i use uhs-1 with 12:1 braw? Great images btw!
It's UHS-1! Thanks man!
Spencer Whiteman woah! Actually 12:1 is good enough for general work.
@@poldivina27 Absolutely, most people probably won't notice the differences in braw compression ratios, especially after uploaded to the web!

I shot this all in 12:1!
What lens adapter did you use with the Sigma lens?
I used a Viltrox EF-M2.
