You gotta think like when the pm2 came out it sold like hotcakes. But when the pm3 came out. Sure, I could’ve bought it and enjoyed a smaller blade, but I already had the pm2 and saw no point. Maybe someday I’ll own one lol
I spoke to a representative at benchmade. There are no plans to reintroduce the griptilian in any of the variations it used to be offered in (i.e. no coated blades, no olive drab, desert tan, or colored handles). It is their intention to end production of the grip within the next year or two. Sad I never got my hands on one when you could get the pld color combos in 154cm and then later S35. For me, the grip is significantly more ergonomic than the bugout, with a bigger blade as well. It was my "grail knife" in the early 2010s as a young teen, but I didnt have money at the time to pick one yp. End of an era.

I like it but its too big for me to carry now and i've moved on to other knives. I'm willing to sell it if you're interested. Its not chipped, just some light scratches on the paint.
The Boker options are super affordable fo automatic. Personally, I like em. The spyderco Para 2 is my work edc and my favorite on the list. The Benchmade bug out is my running errands kind of edc. The Civivi elementum is easy to carry. I gave it to my wife

I’ve been a knife junky with $1000+ custom knives, cheap knives and everything inbetween. Twice sold off my collection and got back into knives and through it all the spyderco Paramilitary 2 is what I would deem the best overall knife there is. It has ALWAYS remained in my collection after 12 years

I collect knives and have always daily carried. I usually buy a new knife when mine goes dull. I have 5 quality EDCs that I love, and I grab my orange Mini Bugout nearly every time anymore. Thought I'd be sad not to have axis assist, but it flicks open so fast and closes so easily!
I own the grey clif point serrated boker Kalashnikov and it was a great knife for the short time I had it after a few days of consistent use opening boxes the button had chewed off part of the handle scale and then had a lot of wiggle in the blade and would no longer lock correctly and became a safety hazard
I wish the kalashnikov had more lefty options. I love it but I genuinely can’t use it because the only lefty options are subpar steels and bland designs! I wish I could have a non-auto kalash that’s more ambidextrous!
The Civivi Elementum should be replaced with the Ontario Knife Company Rat 1. I got the Rat 1 at the suggestion of one of the BladeHQ guys on a RUclips video (because I had somehow lost my purple Civivi Elementum). The Rat 1 is just better, its a little heavier but definitely feels more durable and probably would last longer than the Elementum.
Bought an elementum and the blade was so off centre it was nearly rubbing the scale on one side and the blade was black stonewash and look like they missed a spot or it wore off
Save up for a better automatic. I too started with boker autos. Great beginner knives but once you get your first protech or Benchmade auto you'll never look back.

I just can't buy a boker, every one I have ever handled has a ton of blade play and if you try to tighten the pivot it won't open easily. I'll pay the extra for Spyderco or Benchmade quality.

The ak-47 is more famous, but there was a real rifle called the ak-74, that was also designed by the same person as the Ak-47, so it is actually possible for it to be based on the 74 instead of the 47

I wouldn't say better quality or equal steel for half the price. One half the price knives have good quality don't get me wrong but they're not as good as Spyderco's, two Spyderco's heat treatments are amazing so they might have the same steel but they're not equal, three they're made in the USA for the most part and that's expensive. When you really think about why their prices are high it makes sense, and inflation. But both are good for the money but that doesn't mean cheap.

You really can't beat the axis lock. It's a phenomenal system, especially for it's time. The bugout definitely didn't impact the future of knife making either..... Kizer & Civivi are constantly evolving all shapes, sizes, locks and combinations. Even CJRB has been impressing lately.

I really love the ZT 0770 with aluminum scales, the blade shape was perfect imo.
