My grandmother acted like the boys could do no wrong. She never saw her behavior as preferential, but it definitely was. It was a joke in the family. In her case, I believe it had to do with some childhood trauma that I won't get into, but that's just my theory. My mom definitely suffered as a child, both due to her being female and the circumstances of her conception. My uncle was the golden child who, even now in his 60's, cannot take responsibility for anything. It's ALWAYS someone else's fault, just like every other male. In our family's case, the daughter definitely was punished for being a female. Us grandchildren, not so much. My mom wouldn't put up with it when Granny would get hard on her daughters for no reason other than our gender. My only female cousin had a love/hate relationship with her. Since she was the daughter of Granny's son, Granny's treated her slightly better than me and my sister.

    • @nomoretwitterhandles

@@tweedlebug123 Most people who prefer boys have always told me "girls are so bratty/needy/covered in glitter!" as if they wouldn't be the ones raising them. This isn't a case of expecting girls to NATURALLY be low-maintenance; they're scared THEY are the ones who are going to have to TEACH the girls how to be low-maintenance, because they think girls are naturally bitches. This comes from a place of deeply internalized misogyny and shame.
Now, as someone who actually understands child development, I know for a fact there is no difference between girl and boy behavior when they are very young. And, as with any child, their personalities and behavior differ based on who they are, NOT based on what genitals they were born with. A lot of these behaviors that parents claim to be "natural" are, in fact, NOT natural, and are often caused by how the parents perceive their children to behave. Studies have shown that children who swap gendered clothing are treated much differently than if they were to be wearing their "assigned" clothing. The one wearing girl's clothes was treated like a dumb little baby and was gently persuaded to only play with the dolls present (and not the toy trucks and rocking horses). The one wearing boy's clothing was allowed to figure things out on their own, and they were told not to play with the dolls. It wasn't until after the experiment that their birth sexes were revealed, and the people watching the children were shocked--then ashamed of themselves. It didn't matter what the children were wearing, because both were having fun... but they were also barely toddlers. You can only imagine how their behavior would be affected after YEARS of gendered treatment.
It is truly a nightmare how society forces children into boxes based on their birth sex.

Anna’s videos are even more disturbing when you know the full history of her family and content. She and her husband are og RUclipsrs of over a decade, and they’ve documented their lives and the lives of their children since she was pregnant with her first. They used to be hugely popular back in the wave of British RUclips popularity. I wonder if her descent into toxic boy mom stems from her second child being transgender. Like she’s desperate to cling to the one boy “she has left” or something crazy like that. That’s not even mentioning the issues she’s shown to have with an eating disorder, and other mental health issues and how she hasn’t really taken steps to truly deal with those things. I feel like some of those unresolved issues have to affect the way she perceives and interacts with her daughters especially. I feel bad for her kids overall though. They’ve been exploited and on camera their entire lives.

Every time I think about boy moms, I think about my friend from back in high school who had two older sisters and one younger brother and every time I went to her house, it was so obviously apparent to everyone there that the boy was being favored. He was a brat who would bother us, fart constantly, sometime hit us (he was too small to really hurt us, but the action was still there, he was like 10), and if he wanted the TV, he got the TV. Didn't matter my friend had friends over and was watching something, that was now off and he got to watch what he wanted to. He ran wild and his parents acted like he was an angel who could do no wrong and all blame would go onto my friend. She couldn't control him or she would get in trouble. One older sister was married and the other one in college and my friend told me how they never visited because of how uncaring their parents were of their lives. Their parents only wanted one son and ended up getting three daughters first and they didn't care about them. We often would end up staying in her bedroom as it was the only location we could be there in peace.

its about forming healthy relationships. If the relationship was healthy, and boundaries were made, no one would give a damn. Another reason why people care about emotional incest relationships, is because it can stunt some ways of thinking and development.
for example, one mother has 2 kids. one is a boy and one is a girl. The mother is much closer with the boy, doing his laundry, making his food, and taking care of all his needs well into the son's adulthood (where the term man child comes from)
whereas the girl is neglected by her mother, told to do her own chores, take care of herself and not allowed to do many things whereas her brother would be free to do whatever he goddamn pleases. this follows into adult hood, she sees her mother caring more for her son and the daughter will think that she,
    a) needs to take care of a man and baby him to form a relationship.
    or
    b) she thinks that's bs and she wants someone equal to her.
in many cases, these women don't follow option b, they more or less go for someone toxic and someone who expects them to take care of them like their mommy did. thus the cycles repeats, these women grow up, get married, have kids, and fill that deep well of insecurities through their son.
In conclusion, treating everyone with respect, and the ability to trust them to take care of them is something that's needed to break that cycle. Learning how to accept urself and getting the help that's needed can greatly improve how one feels about their kids, but no one is ready to make that change.
(i was replying to a comment about incest-ships but i don't think they would appreciate it so i commented it here too)

And then those women would probably be the type to say oh boys will be boys when men do stupid shit instead of holding them accountable. And then believe oh its just girls develop mentally faster than boys. As if they didn't develop due to it being their only option so they grew independence as a pre pubescent survival tactic. But any boy mom Brittany and Jessica and Susan refuse to see it.😂

This reminds me of those awful fathers who make it a point to have a gun on display when a boy picks up his daughter to go to homecoming. I would’ve thought that attitude would’ve decreased over the years, but it seems that toxicity spread instead

  • @buckstop

I remember talk with a psych major about this and one thing they said was single moms that go toxic will see the single son as the man who left them. This means either the mom is abusive towards the son as resement or, in these cases, they raise their sons to be the husbands they wanted

Boy moms have been around a looong time in rural America. Occasionally I would feel like I wasn’t enthusiastic enough about my son (only child), but thank god I had normal healthy boundaries, and as a young adult, he still trusts me & enjoys hanging out a normal amount of time. Why create toxicity like this, it’s absolutely bananas. We’re supposed to prepare our kids for independence not give them creepy mommy issues.

These videos always make me so worried and angry...
The amount of hate and spite going towards *potential* *future* *women* in their sons' life when that boy is like 3-4 years old? As well as other parents who happen to have daughters?
    Absolutely unhinged.

The “slowest breakup” one made me audibly gasp “EW!” Also I dated a guy who was a product of a toxic boy mom situation. And let me tell you - that shit was so disturbing. I couldn’t ever really get past it. The emotional incest between them was so fucking creepy. I remember he would tell me certain things about their relationship legitimately framing it as “cute.” It wasn’t cute. It was bizarre and upsetting. Aaaaand he also went on to treat women like total garbage so

This kind of behavior towards their sons is genuinely disturbing. If I noticed any of these things I’d be talking to them and other family of theirs to get the mom to go to a therapist. A lot of these moms clearly have their own issues causing them to act like this and in order to let their children be happy, they have to tackle these issues themselves. Imagine the relationships they ruin for their sons just because they’re too insecure.

Okay so in Asian countries I have seen this A LOT...mothers are so tough with their daughters and so baby-like with their sons,"oh he shouldn't clean or cook" or them doing any work is praised while girls are SUPPOSED to do all this so yeah boy moms are just ladies who didn't got validation from there husbands and are just finding it in their sons and what I have seen in Asian countries is that these feelings ARENT ROMANTIC they just see them as better. It is as bad for them and the mom (okay it's too long)

My mom wasn't necessarily a "boy mom" or had that weird relationship, but she did favor my brother growing up because of our patriarchal culture. Now that we're grown up, I like to sometimes remind her of her favoritism towards my brother 😂 I also shut her down any time she tried to unfairly say something negative about my brother's girlfriend. You're not being an evil MIL today, mother 🙄 Thankfully my mom's a lot better now. Call out your parents guys if you have to.

My uncle married a daddy's girl (or at least that is my hypothesis) that made him horrible thing
When i was really young, between 4 and 8 years, she told me that she did not wanted to have a daughter, her reasons were that a boy will be more discipled on the teenage, but the girl will cause her stress when she get a boyfriend, i did not take in care that moment, i was wondering why she said that a boy will be more calmed (i tough the opposite), but no is just too weird, her dad hated my uncle every single second that he was alive, i think that she projected that feeling of hate against her hypothetical son-in-law

thank you so much for the support :) i seriously don't understand people who are transphobic, like just let ppl live their lives and be who they feel like on the inside fr. I also think it's important to remember the people who are most outspoken being anti-lgbtq+ are the vocal minority, the vast majority of people are pro, but the constant negativity we see everywhere can really get into our heads, so I can for sure empathize.

with all due respect, please work on yourself before attempting to change your gender. It’s not possible.
Cutting and slicing up your body while pumping artificial hormones into it isn’t the answer for gender dysphoria. Try including healthy habits, eating right, exercising, spending time with friends. There will be hell to pay if you attempt to do this. You will never be a dude. It’s a complete break from reality to call yourself a dude when you have ovaries.

      @@sashaircha6475
You are aware to even do ANYTHING medically you have to go to a therapist for 1-2 years / 12 hours of therapy depending on the law AND live through your gender you identify as for about a year.
Then you have to find a doctor who is even willing to give you HRT and do a few tests to see the state of your body hormonal wise, general health and chromosomes. A lot of them also want two doctors notes before they even do anything I even heard on the very very rare occasions about three.
And get a surgery appointment can take much longer than HRT, the same thing about doctor's notes applies here. The difference is that the waiting list can be extremely long, I heard about some trans people having to wait 4 years for one surgery because the list was so long.
I can tell you my transition was extremely fast because I was lucky, I thought 3 years about it and socially transitioned as best as I could. Getting with 19 my HRT after a year of therapy and then with 21 my first surgery.
Plus you have no idea what the person wants. Maybe they just want to change their name and just need a doctor's note to make it liable. Maybe they want a low dose of HRT or just one surgery. Maybe they want everything.
It's also not a complete break from reality, changing gender or homosexuality is very common in the animal kingdom, plus if you're really worried about young people going through surgery that could change their life's forever I genuinely from my heart recommend to fight for babies who are intersex.
Babies are still forced to go through surgery because their sexual reproduction organs aren't lined up with the norm instead of deciding what they want once they're old enough.

When I had my daughter I immediately joined a mom's group. Boys and girls aren't that much different until they get quite a bit older and even then its not much, some boys can go through being aggressive. I find its more about phases. These boy moms are sick.
I just watched documentary on a mother who shot and killed her sons ex wife. They had a two year old baby and she killed her right in front of the baby. Some of these moms sort of hit that way. There sons wives and girlfriends can never be good enough.
