The Word of God never returns void. And there’s lots of examples of people who doubted and God still did what He said He’d do. Here are 2: 1. Sarai doubted, laughing in the tent, and God still gave her Isaac 2. Zechariah doubted the angel God sent, who said he would have a son who would make a way for the Messiah, and laughed. God took away his voice, and made good on His promise! God does not need our faith! His promises are hinged on His character.. He is faithful, even when we are faithless. He must be true to Himself. For people to claim God spoke, and for those words to fall flat, these are people who would’ve been candidates for stoning under the law. And indeed, by their disobedience, they’ve proven themselves to still be under the law, and not under the grace of God! But judgment and revenge are the Lord’s.
