In this guide, we get the WEB version of iTunes, Sideloadly (the application used to sideload apps (or IPAs) onto your iPad), and finally the Phoenix or P0laris jailbreaking app. This is a free method, that doesn't require a Apple Developer account, but does make user of your own AppleId account, so it's recommended to create a separate AppleId account incase of malicious intent.

Just to said that deactivate the Windows Defender if u don't do that it will get u some error messages
Yup windows defender's definitions will find the IPA and tweak and block it because "jailbreak bypass". Glad it worked on your iPad 2!

Thank you for this clear tutorial. Side note, Once you select the option to allow the app from defender, you need click "start action" in Defender to allow Phoenix on your pc. You don't really need to deactivate the virus protection.
This also would be the better action to take rather than taking down your entire antivirus!

Thank you, this worked on my ipad mini exactly like in your video, zero issues and I'm a clueless bird when it comes to stuff like this lol... now i'm wondering how can I install apps that the App store does not allow because it says the iOS on my ipad mini 1st gen is too old and not supported? is there a way to upgrade the ios or download apps from a different source? sorry as I said im pretty clueless, but willing to learn.

The only way I’ve been able to download SOME apps have been through the app store’s “purchased section”. From there it will show all apps previously downloaded by your appleID (including free ones like RUclips, etc.) and you’ll be able to download that last compatible version of the app.
To do this though, you’ll have to have another device with the same AppleID to download the apps that you want on your iPad so they show up in your history.
You could also try to download it on the iPad and hope it saves the history to your purchased section so you can do the above steps.
There have also been a few repos I’ve read about that include older versions of apps compatible with specific IOS versions but I don’t have them in mind at the moment.

Thanks! I’ve seen a few tweaks in cydia that lets you download the last compatible version (if available) but that’s the furthest I’ve gone.

So for IOS 5.1.1, you'll need to use a different exploit. A viable one is redSn0w and you can download your OS's version from here: sites.google.com/a/iphone-dev.com/files/home/
There may be certain software requirements like having a windows 7 OS and iTunes version 11 or older, and since I don't have the first get iPad, I can't really walk through the steps, but it seems like redSn0w has instructions that walk you through it when you run the program. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

if the app requires higher iOS version than that you currently have then you will not be able to download because if you try, they will show a message telling you that your iOS should be updated.
i guess there are other ways to download apps if you jailbreak but i don't the other ways.
@mente5731 is correct. The only other method I know of acquiring apps is if you have previously downloaded the app before, you’ll be able to navigate onto the app store’s purchased section (can be free apps) and it’ll let you download the latest compatible version.

i have a 1st gen ipad mini, hoever my icloud account is locked for security reason and I cant reset my account since I don't remember what birthday I put (this was back in 2013). As a result I am not able to factory rest my iPad. IS there any way around this? Everytime I try to reset it its asking for me to sign into my icloud, but I cant since I'm locked out and don't remember birthday
Yea at the moment, it's a little hard to bypass apple's activation lock.

It's kinda hard to go about it in a way that apple doesn't think you're cheating them with a stolen device, so it's gonna be a lot of searching around is about all you can do.

SIdeloadly keeps failing for me at 40% saying "failed to verify code signature"
Hmm strange, so some people have had success temporarily turning off their windows defender, but if you're not comfortable with that, I know I would be a little sketched out, you could always try it on another machine if you have access to one!
I haven't done this method in awhile so I honestly don't know what the problems could be, maybe try signing in and out of your apple id since it's trying to verify the app developer?

Is the repo still functioning? It could be they have an IOS requirement and your device is on too low of an OS.

No sadly not. The new IOS versions rely on newer hardware that we just can’t bypass. The only thing you can really do is to get cydia tweaks that mimics functionality of the newer IOS.
When opening ipa file in sideloadly it keeps saying how the application is in use
Could you try a restart and then open just sideloadly? It could be some kinda iTunes or some other apple app interfering.

You could try but I’m not sure this method is the best for more recent IOS versions.

Hm have you still tried the device to see if it supports your version? It potentially could be too old and you may have to rely on other methods.

Sadly it will not since you need to log into your iCloud account to push the jailbreak through.

Try to temporarily disable your windows defender or exclude the folder from its watch.
ok so i followed all the instructions and phoenix installs but after the device restarts cydia does not show?
It could be within a folder (I’ve had it randomly pop up in a random folder before).
You could also try to run the method again to see if it’ll re-push cydia to your device.
You could also try to manually search for the app but if it’s not showing up I’d try the method again.

Ah if you can’t send messages through the app that’s already on your iPad, it probably means meta themselves has removed that functionality from the older messenger app version. Not much I can do for that.

so because this 9.3.5 is no longer supported and i can't get any apps.. like netflix or the xbox app... if i jailbreak it.. will i be able to get those apps?
You can get certain apps that still have the an old version on their servers, and if you have downloaded em before on your apple account. They'll be in your app section, purchased, and when you click on the app, it'll try to download the oldest compatible version.

Yea apple really wants to fade their old devices into uselessness. It should work regardless of jailbreak status. Does your App Store not have that paid section?

What are the benefits of having a jail broken ipad
You may get access to tweaks or modifications that aren’t yet available to your device.
For instance, you could get themes (though iOS 18 seems to be coming with the feature) and custom icons.
Sometimes it’s a system tweak that lets you do additional functions not available on the base OS.
It’s similar to unlocking more functionality for your device at the (sometimes) cost of losing stability.

Microsoft is showing that the Pheonix website is a MALWARE WEBSITE. Is pheonix safe?
Yea there’s exploits that phoenix uses to jailbreak IOS that will get flagged by windows defender, but be on the safe side and do your own research, make a new separate IOS account to test it out, and start using a password manager if you haven’t already.
