I needed to hear this interview. After years of service to my job, I resigned because of unjust work environments and below average pay. Has nothing to do with wrestling but Bill’s words resonated with me.
Why is this resonating with you? It's a guy still riding a wave of his heydays in WWE, charging $40+ for an autograph at conventions, with a straight face telling people to quit and get "a real job". Like the one you had.
Bill Eadie is easily one of the greatest wrestler of all time. In reality he would be a 4 time HOFer. Mongols, Superstar, Demolition, & The Machines. An absolute legend.
Bill Eadie looks like the personification of the term 'dad strength'. Just a big, gruff, blue-collar, no-nonsense man, but softly spoken and almost certainly devoted to his family. Like a more muscular Jack Arnold from the Wonder Years. If I didn't know he was a wrestler, I'd think he was a docker - probably the shop steward in his local union, regularly chairing meetings in a smoke filled room to discuss the possibility of strike action as a result of his men not getting the benefits promised to them by the company at the end of the last fiscal year. The kind of man who could give the kind of life advice that anyone would listen to and take to heart.
How the hell is Demolition not in the Hall of Fame? It has Koko B Ware, Queen Sharmell, the Bushwhackers, Hillbilly Jim, Torrie Wilson.. but not freaking DEMOLITION?
The same can be said forWahoo McDaniels . Bill was great as the Mask Superstar. Young and very athletic. His voice behind that Mask would scare the devil.
I will say til the end of time that The Masked Superstar should have had a run with the NWA belt! Not necessarily a long one, but I feel like matches between him and Flair during the early 80's would have been great.
Demolition is MY favorite tag team of ALL time. I LOVE the Road Warriors and RESPECT the Powers of Pain. At 46 yrs. of age.... It's STILL Bill and Barry for me. PLUSI have a Bill story that didn't end well for me. He put me in my place and I am grateful for the lesson.
Bobby Heenan hated him Terry really pissed Bobby off . I think Terry could have done other stuff with his gimmick. Vince saw a cocky young guy and it reminded him of a Roster ,he didn't need to do the hair thing , just do the cocky thing in dress one roster for all the ladies dress cocky act cocky . I believe that's what Vince wanted not the Roster crape but those days it's your gimmick make it work for you. But people remember it and he could still make money from it today
I adore how all those nerds are flabbergasting over this, like "why would you do that to your company?!" Wow, to an entire company, you say? Do what? McMahon wasn't turning Warrior into Rooster. And it's not the end of the world - Eugene, Marella, Otis had/have a good payday doing comedy bits. Taylor himself understood it eventually, says he should've put more heart into that role.
I knew that Terry Taylor was doomed when he was forced to job to Mr. Perfect every day of their feud. Mr. Perfect's "perfect streak" was detrimental to a lot of his opponents, and it cemented Terry Taylor as a midcard jobber-to-the-heel stars in the WWE from 1988 to 1990.
Eadie was awesome as the masked superstar. Demolition was a great team. The red rooster ruined Taylor. Taylor was good as a sneaky heel before joining the wwf.
Or you know what? Go and get a real job. Wiser words never spoken. You have to stand on you morals and have some balls and willing to say no. Good things come to those who have honor and integrity.
Terry was great in NWA but again they garbage company and Vince will destroy anybodys career like they always have! I myself would never destroy my career or integrity with a polka dots, rooster costume, or dancing! I will forever have respect for Bill Eadie he is truly and old school wrestlers wrestler
I agree with most of what he said but i isn't that easy to say no, get fired and move on esp in Wrestling. Some have to say "yes" because they need money. If you get over and are established then you can start saying "no". If I recall Terry got the call to go to the then WWF. Red Rooster character was a death sentence lol. He had the option to go elsewhere because at that point he was well known.
That's why he said you gotta be a man and have the balls to walk out and just deal with whatever comes..like he said whats wrong with a real job for a bit or you never know if you show your spine ppl will see it and respect you
All the boys knew that the wrestling business was dying on the vine quickly with the Vince McMahon take over. There wasn't going to be anywhere to go long-term 💯
Love that guy. It was like a hs had an s&m side job beating the shit out if jobbers. How’s you’re day at work honey? Oh stressful down at the office. Had to reprimand one my coworkers. Lolop
It's real easy for someone who never had a bad gimmick to say, "Well, just leave!". You don't know what the reasons are for accepting a shitty gimmick. You don't know what he's got going on. In 1987, with the collapse of the UWF, Taylor was already seeing the writing on the wall how he was going to be used in WCW when he was instantly jobbed out to "prove" that Crockett's wrestlers were "superior" to Watts' wrestlers. Taylor took a chance to go to the WWF, and presumably got a large enough money offer to leave WCW. Maybe he figured he could ride out the Rooster and he could get a different gimmick. Again, it's real easy to play armchair quarterback with another person's career. "Taylor should have done this!" "Taylor should have done that!" Real easy for someone else to tell you what you "should" do.
Bill Eadie, always a class act!
Always the Masked Superstar a bigger than life presence

Bill Eadie is so underrated.
Well said…Masked Superstar, one of the Machines, and most famous Ax…great worker, great wrestler
No doubt about. He was a great worker for a very long time.
Bill Eadie is easily one of the greatest wrestler of all time.
In reality he would be a 4 time HOFer.
Mongols, Superstar, Demolition, & The Machines.
An absolute legend.
Only to those unaware of his legacy as the iconic masked legend of the 1970's , The Masked Superstar.
America's Mil Mascaras
Agreed. The masked superstar highly underrated. His promos were great and at the time a huge guy.

I loved Bill as the Masked Superstar!! What a big strong man!
Bill Eadie would be a good booker , class act
Bill Eadie was a great performer for a very long time. He wrestled against a lot of big names.
You were my favorite heal man you got good long jevity your the best when is your next podcast
Were u a weight lifter at one time and your finishing hold. I could swarn i saw someone messed him self on Georgia championship wrestling
one of the best in and out of the ring. great talk from bill eadie
Would have been fun to work with someone as nice as this guy.
As a kid in the Mid Atlantic area, I had the pleasure of watching Bill at his peak. As the Masked Superstar he was incredible.
Great interview.
The roosters wrestlemania promo was one of the best of all time, you talk about all in on a gimmick 😂
Ax seems like a real nice bloke
Him and Barry Darsow should be in HOF
How the hell is Demolition not in the Hall of Fame? It has Koko B Ware, Queen Sharmell, the Bushwhackers, Hillbilly Jim, Torrie Wilson.. but not freaking DEMOLITION?

I loved superstar and super destroyer as tag champs in Georgia bill had a great career
He was a friend of Andre and had massive respect for each other
One of Andre's last matches in WWF was Wrestlemania 6 Andre and Haku vs Demolition, Andre knew he'd be protected in his declining state
The Masked Superstar, the Super Machine, and Ax of Demolition.
@@PeterHowe228 turned Andre back to babyface
This guy speaks well
How Demolition are not in WWF Hall of Fame is ridiculous! Makes a mockery of it!
Because they were part of the class action lawsuit against WWE
I will say til the end of time that The Masked Superstar should have had a run with the NWA belt! Not necessarily a long one, but I feel like matches between him and Flair during the early 80's would have been great.
people forget how over he was in wwf in 1983 i think he was backlunds last feud before he lost to the iron sheik. he was great heel
@b40 b40 I remember him in 1983 in the WWF breaking Eddie Gilbert's neck which lead to a title shot vs Backlund
Bill could make a great President. Very well articulated, down to Earth, presence, charisma, strength and a great manly voice.
Much Respect to this Gentleman!!!!
Ax and Smash ruled
No crush 😢
@@greyjedi6430 sorry he was better as a solo but not as Demolitoon

Bill seems like a nice guy.
Why did the interviewer call him Leslie? Did he confuse him for Brutus Beefcake?
He said *lastly* 🤦♂️ as in it was the last question he was asking etc.
Brought Mad Max look to the WWF/WWE.
Leslie??
He's right!
I have always said Terry Taylor was the most misused talent in the history of wrestling! He had it all and Vince dropped the ball 💯🤔

@@chrisblester37 Bruce is that you?
I think Vince felt bad for the whole rooster thing so he ended up hiring Terry as a behind the scenes talent.
Probably with a good paycheck.
@@briansmith48 that probably is true
Was this guy ax from demolition?
Yes. Hard to believe since he's so soft spoken here.
Demolition wrestling was awesome OVW Makes professional Wrestling legends.
Sometimes life is about leverage and having leverage of people.
I got off the glass🍾🙏🏿🙏🏿 when I saw an actual human size RED 🐓 in the Ring in Terry (Vero's Hero) Taylor.
Sometimes you have to be willing to say "No, im not comfortable with this and walk away."....thats a good life lesson.
We laughed our butts off as 7 and 8 year olds at the "Red 🐓"
Wow, he's the nicest guy I've ever heard in wrestling.
I thought the rooster gimmick was utterly ridiculous. He was so much better than that. And as for Mr. Eadie, you sir are my all time favorite!
Love the Superstar
Terry Taylor deserved better than the Red Rooster gimmick. Bill was dead right, sometimes you have to walk away from it.
Good. Worker
Wow. My childhood. The demolition Ax. WWF.
I adore how all those nerds are flabbergasting over this, like "why would you do that to your company?!"

It totally looks llike he isnt wearing pants. LOL
Red Rooster gimmick worst career choice ever
I always loved Bill Eadie!! ( very wise ) unlike Terry & the Rooster gimmick, The masked Superstar was an awesome 👌 one!!
Could talk to Bill
all day long
For an horrific moment I thought Bill wasn’t wearing any trousers!
a horrific not an horrific

You’d job a young Curt Hennig to Taylor? Lmao come on
The Red Rooster was the most awful gimmick ever.
Eadie was awesome as the masked superstar.
Demolition was a great team.
The red rooster ruined Taylor.
Taylor was good as a sneaky heel before joining the wwf.
Ultimate career killer.
Big Ax was Awesome.
He's such a cool dude
I hate to say it but I think the red rooster gimmick really made Terry a star
He was popular and it could of worked but he clucked like a bird instead of being a really cocky heel took it literally
Or you know what? Go and get a real job. Wiser words never spoken. You have to stand on you morals and have some balls and willing to say no. Good things come to those who have honor and integrity.
According to Bruce vince seen him as a cocky rooster😂
nobody not even today can any wrestler in the world give a clothesline like the masked superstar did true 100% fact

I will forever have respect for Bill Eadie he is truly and old school wrestlers wrestler
i liked his Taylor Made Man gimmick in WCW - thought that was a good persona
One thing, Terry Taylor just never made a good heel. He was better off staying a baby face.
Disagree he was better as a heel as a face he was treated like a jobber plus he was great as heel just watch some of his old stuff
This was one of the gimmicks bruce prichard came up with.Another one was the Mr perfect gimmick.

I’ll take Demolition over Road Warriors anyday. Bill Eadie had more talent than hawk and animal combined

Worst time in wrestling
Terry Taylor was a fine wrestler I never understood why he played that red rooster crap in the WWF.
Probably something to do with getting paid
This guy was a professional wrestler? He seems to have a few too many brain cells for that vocation.
