Indeed. Why does it sound like he's doing rudiments in this video but on the album it sounds like he's just doing single strokes with each hand? Maybe it just sounds different without the guitar riff.
@@JordanOwnby I would guess that it came from the translation to cubase, leaving out the rolls or ghost notes, programming in more of a single stroke style. I guess thomas liked that better than the initial idea.

You do not make any weak productions so I know that next album will be as good as the last 6 albums :) . I sold my soul for Meshuggah long time ago since Destroy Erase Improve was released. I can not wait ....
You can tell he's friendly with the guys from Vincent, such a relaxed vibe considering this is promotional. Also the most insightful video into the process because of that.
Good to see tomas still breaking new ground. I love meshuggah's uniqueness. I just you can supass the awsome Koloss...keep it real smooth is slow. Slow is fast.
All I'm hoping is that their next album sounds different in a very obvious and immediate way. Not big on having to "think" about what's different. Hoping for a Chaosphere-to-Nothing leap in style, maybe even farther.
YanusDV I just wanna hear more "ear cookies" in their tracks, just so it doesn't get too repetitive. I'd like it if Thomas used a wider range of cymbals, not just "this is a bag of cans, I use it as a crash" and what not. I also wanna hear more of Fredrik's Special Defects style playing in it, rather than just the 'random tapping' thing over and over.

Some people say that jazz drummers are by far the best drummers at all. I don't play drums and I don't know much about it, but I have feeling that Tomas Haake is one of the top drummers even though he is not playing jazz.... am I wrong?
