- For your attention, I offer a review of the new product of 2022, from the German company PICA - a mechanical pencil for fine marking Pica Fine Dry long life 7070.
Features of the product
- Rod diameter 0.9 mm.
- There is a replaceable grout under the removable cap to correct marking errors. Grouting can be purchased separately.
- As the pencil wears out, new ones are automatically supplied from the supply located right inside the pencil case.
- A clearly working mechanism for extending the rod to the required length with automatic dosing.
- Reliable locking mechanism that prevents displacement of the rod during marking.
- Increased body rigidity - withstands heavy loads.
- There are relief elements on the body that make it easier to work even with gloves.
- Anatomical recesses in the front part of the case, under the index, middle and thumb fingers, for comfortable and reliable holding.
- Bulky protrusions in the back of the case for safe removal of the pencil from the case.
- The presence of a protruding rim on the case for convenient insertion of the pencil into the case. The rim also acts as a stop, which limits the pencil from being plunged too deeply into the case.
- Two types of rods, with different hardness, for different surfaces (can be purchased separately). There are slates with hardness H and softer ones - universal HB. sold in 24 pieces, in plastic cases with a sliding lid. Kits are also available, which include a case with 24 slates and 2 spare grouts. The length of the rods is 60 mm.
- Bright and impact-resistant case, will never disappear from sight. Thanks to the high precision in manufacturing, the pencil in the case is held tightly and securely, even in an inverted state.
- A strong clip with a unique hooking solution will allow you to fix the pencil in the most convenient place and pull out/return it with one hand.
- Improved dust and moisture protection, to protect the internal mechanism. The button-cap closes the case, thereby protecting it from moisture getting inside.
- Very resistant to wear due to the high quality of the products.

- Stainless steel spout. But the nose has circular notches, which allows you to hold the pencil in this place, for particularly accurate marking.
- It is completed with universal graphite rods HV (5 pieces) - a unique development of the PICA company, which makes marking possible on almost all surfaces. The rods, as well as the marked line, are resistant to high temperatures - up to 70°C.
- Weight 15.5 grams (with 5 rods) - with a case 25.5 grams. The length of the pencil is 150 mm (160 mm in the case).

А як заточити якщо треба надтонка лінія?

Діаметр стрижня 0,9 мм. При розмітці, олівець розташовується під кутом - отримуємо лінію 0.5мм. Якщо розмічати гострими гранями стрижня, можна отримати лінію 0.1-0.2мм.
Де потрібна лінія, тонша?
На металі, частіше, використовують креслилку з твердосплавним загостреним стрижнем. У компанії Pica, цього року, з'явилася новинка з таким стрижнем - PICA Dry Metal Set 30800 (~22$).
p.s. Якщо все ж таки хочеться заточити такий тонкий грифель, скористайтеся наждачним папером з дрібним зерном, або коробкою з-під сірників.
