I wondered if you'd put that nib in the Emerald.

Emerald Blue is stunning, looks a lot nicer in real life than photo or video. I paired it with Sailor Yamadori 👍

What I like about the Kaigelu Long Knife is that the difference between their regular F or M is minimum, so that the Long Knife is versatile. The Long Knife can be used for everyday writing while it gives us almost unnoticeable characters to our hand writings. That is to say, for example, an architect nib must be sharp and crisp (thus super duper scratchy) if you do lettering (before CAD) on your drawing of a building, etc. or if you write Arabic/Hebrew/Persian.. Serious Arabic calligraphers do not use FPs, but dip pens. They sharpen the nibs on a regular bases, they throw away the nibs on a regular bases. They need sharp edges to write crisp letters. Thus they use super scratchy writing instruments. Actually they cut bamboo themselves.

I picked up one of those Calligraphy nibs out of curiosity. It definitely is interestingly different from my others. Smooth and wet, yet I'm not sure what it brings to my particular table. Still fooling around with it.

Thanks, Chris! Smooth is good. Wet too I guess if you like to wait for ink to dry. Seems to behave like a fude, I don't see much

Thank you for very informative video as usual. In some shops, the green one is called 翡翠 Fěicuì

Thanks for review. But please make sure when posting video that captions available. I suppose it can be configured in the posting settings. Because some of your videos supports captions, and others don't. English isn't my native , sometimes it's hard to understand spoken language..

Chris- Rescue me ! So I got this pen and the calligraphy nib. I pulled out the old nib and feed. Put this in and can’t get it to write. The filling mechanism is a little tricky as you said but I am fairly certain I have enough ink in it. Do I have to use the plastic collar the calligraphy nib comes with? Or just a “pull swap” like I did? It won’t write - skips more than it puts down ink. Thoughts? Maybe prayers! Thanks.

The PenBBS 355 is one of only half a dozen Chinese pens that I care about enough to have retained in my collection.

For people outside China, if they don't plan on practicing Chinese calligraphy, they probably won't get much out of these new calligraphy nibs. These are designed to mimic Chinese brush strokes and therefore not optimized for western penmanship at all. PenBBS should probably clarify this point by calling these "CHINESE calligraphy nibs" instead of just "calligraphy nibs".
