    Hail Kings. The longer the hair, the darker the Phil. Reinventing is a great album. Do more Pantera.

    It’s the third track off their final album “Reinventing the Steel” released in March 2000.
    I was luckyenough to see them live 3x. First in 96 with White Zombie, then in 97 at Ozzfest, then in 99 with Coal Chamber.
    They were a brutal force of nature. RIP brothers Abbot.

    Rest in Peace Dime and Dave! This is from Pantera's fantastic but often overlooked last album Reinventing the Steel. After Vulgar in 1994 Pantera released Far Beyond Driven which is still today the heaviest album ever to debut at #1! They definitely carried the Metal flag throughout the 90s and my favorite album of theirs might be another gem you've not heard of: The Great Southern Trendkill. I was lucky enough to see Pantera on the Trendkill tour in 1996 with White Zombie and again in 1997 with Anthrax. And yes Phil loved to tell us to go Ape Sh*t on every song! That last show Dime came out while we were all waiting in line and said hello, such a great loss for music, and I still get sad every December 8th when both Dime AND John Lennon were murdered. On a happier note, Phil and Rex are talking about playing together again but under a new name, perhaps with Zakk Wylde? Hope all is well my friend. So you saw the with Soulfly at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas? Do you remember the year? Peace! ESPI

    Man great :). every time i hear Pantera im getting flashbacks to the vulgar display of power tour and i was about 10 or 11. Saw them live thanks to my sister and her longhaired vikings in the MC club the tallest had the honor of having me on his shoulders. I gotta say the feeling when you sit up high and Anselmo screaming at you the world around you look amazing at that time of your age also the air that flows there are insane. My hearring is somewhat impaired today butt hey i can live with that :p.

    As opposed to saying they broke up, might be more specific to say Phil left. Dime and his brother were selling tickets for $5 the night of the murder in Ohio.

      Phil didnt randomly leave. The band went on a PLANNED BREAK which a well documented, often forgotten, FACT.

      @oskarsalvador7414 2 года назад

      @@integrity101 i will have to look more into this, wouldn’t want to keep furthering any rumors. How long was the break supposed to be for? Can you point me us in the right direction for original source material and more details?

    • @integrity101
      @integrity101 2 года назад +1

      @@oskarsalvador7414 You'll find an MTV article about it which even mentions that fact that Philip was mentioning it on tour every night(planned break). Search EXTREME STEEL tour. Also Metal Edge magazine had an interview with Vinnie Paul specifically discussing how the band would be taking a break and during that time fans would get HOME VIDEO #4 along with the 2nd album from DOWN and the debut from Rebel Meets Rebel at the very least. Rebel Meets Rebel didn't come out for another 5 years and the home video never came out.
      Half the band wanted a few years off and the other half wanted a few months off. There was a massive communication breakdown and the media turned it into WW3 to sell magazines.

    • @whitebread940
      @whitebread940 2 года назад

      @@integrity101 I saw that documentary. They way I took it as Phil had a back injury that he wouldn’t get fixed and self medicated instead. He also wouldn’t return phone call to the band & crew. Damage Plan soon happened next with a horrible end.

    Espi comin' in heavy!! 💥 I know this song but I honestly have no idea why...must have been playing in a rock club or two while I was trying to be patient waiting between bands. I don't know. It's a decent jam, though! I will award bonus points for the impromptu, amped up Immigrant Song verse...I will deduct at least one point for the boobs. I don't need to see that which I already have. 😸 And WHY is it OK for girls to lift their tops and let it all hang out, but the second a guy drops his drawers, he is arrested for indecent exposure????

      I'm glad you pointed that out. It's because even other women find women attractive and usually don't mind the nudity but also because if men can go topless than women can too. In the end no one wants to see a dudes junk whether in jest or otherwise. Also nudity has been common of most concerts since woodstock but the intent behind it has definitely changed.

    Man! I saw them twice before Vulgar Display came out. Their live vibe was let’s have fun & thrash. Sadly, when I saw them later. It was a darker, heavier vibe with Phil not interacting much onstage. Cowboys is still my favorite.

  • @odinsahn7648
    @odinsahn7648 2 года назад

    This is off Reinventing the Steel, their last album. Vinnie wore high top reeboks or Converse Allstars just like Dime. However, he would wear baseball gloves because he held his drumsticks inverted with with the fat end making contact and grooves cut into the small end for traction with the gloves (Heavier precussion). Best album is hard to vote on cuz they all have that special something for each one. Although I find that Trendkill is the deepest and darkest of them all, Far Beyond Driven is the heaviest and peak Pantera, Cowboys was the fastest, Vulgar was the most prolific and progressive and the turning point in their career. Steel is an anthem album but has some of the heaviest riffs. I have seen pretty much everything they've got including bootlegs. Some of which are bad recordings but I recommend Japan 95, 101 Proof, Blacktooth in Holland and Unscarred 96 which are all on RUclips. Cheers and enjoy from Canada!
