- Orangutan and Siamang Gibbon Play Fighting at the San Diego Zoo. Aisha and Sela are best friends who live at San Diego Zoo in a joint enclosure for Siamangs and Orangutans. They are now 3 and 8 years old. From Sela's birth (the Siamang Gibbon), they have been inseparable.

Once they are adulte, they don't need to. We do not see it in this video but Orangs can be very strong, and could really harm leopards.

@@lancercool134They shouldn't captive They are more remarkable in their home environments. Great apes should not be captive. Sadly, zoos and wild preserves are the safest place to preserve the species at the time. They are loved and are capable of love and altruistic behavior.

Love the interactions between orangutans and gibbons. But what I’d really like to know (and see) is could orangutans coexist peacefully with gorillas? Both species in one enclosure and see how they interact, I figured they’re not so different.
That’s a great question. What I know about Orangutans is they’re elusive and solitary in the wild so they might avoid Gorillas if they were in the same habitat. But if they were in the same enclosure it’s hard to say what they’d do.

does anyone know what happened to the siamangs at the san diego zoo? they haven't been outside at all for many days now. there was only a mother and her daughter (see in this video) left.
A few weeks ago while I was there I saw two Siamangs with the Orangutans. You can see them in my latest Zoo video.
