Completely agree on the heel slip issues being WAY blown out of proportion... AND...the fact the Invincible 3 is firmer and (more) versatile. The strobel board IS the game changer for this shoe. I talked about the same things in my initial review and am continually surprised as I keep running in them. Lot's to talk about in a long term review for sure. Great video, fair and based on experience!
I put the shoe on I felt the heel slippage a little bit right away. Gave them a go 1st day ran a 10k on the treadmill and boy did the heel slippage go away and I noticed how this shoe kept me striding easier and better its weird lol. I was scared out of the box but they win me over in the same day.
I rock heavily with the Zoomx foam, coming back from injury it’s given me the ability to start working my way up to more miles and chase Pr’s and scholarships. The invincible 3 may be a different type of shoe, but I’m glad you’re giving it the attention it nonetheless deserves
I knew it! Thank you for confirming my suspicions on a “plate”. The firmness and change in flexibility in the midsole made me think there was a plate of some sort.
i have all 3 versions, and i agree 100% with everything you said. the Invincible 3 is not as great as the other two previous versions but its still by far better than any other max cushioned shoe on the market.
runner's knot and getting the right sizing, this year specifically with Nike I noticed I been having to size down half a size for shoes to fit properly
No heel slippage for me! More bounce, more cushion, more stable than previous versions. Like going on rails. No "drama", like in v 1 and v2. Propels you forward in a narural way. Even much better when picking the pace.
I’d say the v1, although the v1 and v2 are basically the same shoe. The v2’s ankle collar area has a rougher fabric material, which I wore down because I kick the inside of my ankle. But I liked the bounce much better than the v3. However, the v3 is still a decent shoe. Just not as fun
Would this be a good shoe for someone a bit on the heavier side with flat feet as far as stability goes? I usually do long walks and have started doing sprints/easy jogging. or should I do the pegasus 41?
I just recently got this shoe, have like 40 miles on it. The only concern that i have is blisters. I don’t if its the material and shape of the shoe or maybe just the break in period. But after a 12m run it got me this big blister located on sole near the arch and ball of my foot.
I've been looking everywhere lately for the same model of Invincible 2 that you have (sail colorway), but couldn't find it anywhere unfortunately. I really love how it looks, and the upper looks way more comfortable and less rigid/synthetic than the Invincible 3. I was looking to use them for casual comfort, not running, so the softness is perfect for that and the durability wouldn't be as much of an issue. Hope I'll get lucky and find a pair some time..
Check out StockX: stockx.com/nike-zoomx-invincible-run-flyknit-2-sail-black-mint-foam I think the 2 is more comfortable, definitely more of a fabric-type material, where the 3 feels a little plasticy
I have the Nike Invincible 3 also and experienced heel slippage issues. As for the runners knot did you have enough lacing left to tie your shoes or did you purchase and use longer laces? The laces on your shoes look a lot longer than the laces that were on my Invincible’s after I tie a runners knot (barely enough laces left to tie and double knot is out of question) sent to me by Nike.
@@FreshBrewRunClub I wear US size 11 and there is not much shoelace left after a runner's knot. Nike should have put thicker padding into the heel collar and that would have probably solved the issue, I own Asics Nimbus 26 also and the heel collar padding is double Nike's heel padding and no heel slippage and no runners knot in the Nimbus 26 and both are size 11.
I ordered a pair of Nike Zoomfly 6’s that should be here early next week. From every review I’ve seen that is supposed to be a very good shoe from Nike and look forward to using them.
Thanks for watching! I would recommend this, especially with plantar fasciitis. I ran a marathon in the Invincible 2 and it was fine, and the 3 is even better for a marathon. Not the fastest shoe in the world, but comfort can be more important than speed in many cases
I’d start with something a little more neutral like the Pegasus or New Balance 1080. Those shoes can do a lot of different runs, and you can figure out from there if you like something with more cushion, stability, etc.
I think they should be ok, as long as you aren’t running on really difficult trails that need a lot of grip or stability. This is more of a road shoe, but it can handle some light trails. If you need something more durable, I really like the Pegasus Trail line. They’re great on trails but also pretty good for road running.
How do you keep em clean? just bought the new colourway white/bright orange, cauase i needed a max cushioned shoe for easy days, but wasnt sure at first, because my first thought is that i was going to need to wash em every week!!, any cool tip to keep em clean, or how to clean em easily? thank you
Truth is, I don’t do much! I run mostly on sidewalks, so they don’t get too bad. I take some pride in dirty shoes because it means I put some good miles on them
I haven’t, but I’m not too surprised with the way the heel collar has an “edge” to it. My ankle socks have padding on the back, which probably prevented any issuea
Maybe the New Balance 1080 or the adidas Ultraboost. It’s really a matter of preference; I think these shoes would be fine, but some might not like this much cushioning while waking.
Bought these Saturday for general daily use, walking to work etc, love them, they feel so good, comfort, bounce. Yet to run in them yet, but they are great for what I want them for
what about the wobble? that's bad overall for your hip muscles. Too much smoothness is not natural and your muscles work harder for maintain your balance.
@@FreshBrewRunClub Maybe your right. I usually judge them by how creased that midsole is and how worn the outsole is but these seem to have held up well despite a 94kg footstrike and well over 500 miles. How do you gauge how compacted the midsole is ? Also which would you recommend for a max cush, the Invincible 3 or the Nimbus 25 please ?
@@danielmoore9214 I really just went by feel. They lost a lot of their bounciness and it felt like my feet were slapping the ground more. I haven’t run in the Nimbus in about 15 years, but I think that’ll be the next shoe I try.
What’s your springtime running shoe at the moment?

@@Vaiz15 yep pretty much the same for me
I did notice the heel slip when I first put them on. Lacing them a little tighter fixed the problem.
I just bought this its so comfy no heel slip
Finally, an overall positive review of Invincible 3. I watched like 15 youtubers and only 2-3 has overall positive review of the shoes.
People definitely have their preferences, but I did feel like the V3 got a bit of a bad rap from the initial reviews.

Thanks for watching! I’ve been a huge fan of the ZoomX since the Pegasus Turbo
I knew it! Thank you for confirming my suspicions on a “plate”. The firmness and change in flexibility in the midsole made me think there was a plate of some sort.
Yep. I’ve added “strobel board” to the list of things I’m paying attention to in a show. Thanks for watching!
I'm a Detroit guy too, just found ya and subscribed. I'm a walker and I like your stuff. Keep on trucking😀
Thanks! Appreciate it!!
I have run about 600 miles in my Invincible 2s and only moderate outsole wear and minor mid-sole creasing.

I’ve only bought one Nike this year, but that’s interesting. Something to keep an eye on for sure

Great to hear! Love the idea of a shoe having “drama”. I might need to use that in a future video review for a dramatic shoe
I'd wish Nike would make a shoe with the Inv1 midsole and outsole and the Inv 3 upper, that would be perfect.
I’d maybe toss in the interior heel collar padding of the Invincible 2 and we might have the perfect shoe
Try Asics nimbus 26 i came from invincible 1 and have to say its very similar in feel because the sole is thicker, bit faster also. 👍
What model out of the 3 of the Nike invincible line would you say has been the best out of all of them?
I’d say the v1, although the v1 and v2 are basically the same shoe. The v2’s ankle collar area has a rougher fabric material, which I wore down because I kick the inside of my ankle. But I liked the bounce much better than the v3. However, the v3 is still a decent shoe. Just not as fun

I feel the same. Both a good shoes and slightly different, but I really liked the 2s. I’m on my last pair right now
4:39 it's all that horsepower you're running 🙂, a 6 minute pace is a slow run 😎.

I used the laces that came with the shoes. The runner’s knot does make them shorter, but I had enough left to double knot them

No heel slippage at all for me. 🤷🏾♂️
Yep, I think the issue is a little overblown
Main issue with this is the sole separation.
I’ve seen that before, unfortunately manufacturing defects happen
Do you experience sole separation from the midsole?
I did not on the V3s

Sounds like if they took out that insert material in the shoe, this would be perfection for you
Yeah! Maybe I’ll break out the sewing machine and make some customizations
I’m thinking about getting the Invincible Run 3’s for easy/slow runs. Would they be bad to use for my XC practices? (running up hills and trails)
