A bit of quite in the background would be nice for this classic.
RIP P St J 🙏🙏

Can you see the rabbit hole I have fallen down today? Enjoying every minute. I believe this is the tune Dylan borrowed? stole? for "Restless Farewell." Cheers again!!
@@m.c.master4622 You could be in worse places 😂.
I remember doing a little research on it after the funeral of a dear neighbour , as she had requested that it be sung while escorted from the church.
I don't think Dylan (you are correct)would have needed any permission , the author is unknown so I guess copyright does not exist and the song is thought to be circa 500yrs old.
I believe it celebrates the old tradition of sending a patron or traveller off into the night with one last drink probably taken with them in a small vessel and a toast to them as they left, it's a warm version I choose to relate anyway 😂
My neighbour chose Liam Clancy's recording of it and it was a good choice. No doubt you can find it here on YT 👍
Idk somehow it seems a very fitting way of encapsulating the Irish or Irish Americans who still hold the traditions our ancestors taught us. Impromptu singing to honor a departed friend while life goes on in the bar.
Glenn is well on it... fair play to ye auld man, you're a true Dub, and a real gent...and a credit to your city...!
Maith sìbh

A question from across the pond: What are the green stoles hanging across the neck and over the shoulders of the guy in the video? What are they called?
It's just a scarf
@@harrietrabbitts9 Ha! No secret Irish mystery there! Thanks.
Possibly Glasgow Celtic scarves.
