Dirty Old Town for Shane MacGowan Rip
Просмотров 7 тыс.11 месяцев назад
What a day for Shane MacGowan on Friday, this is what I love about Dublin and Ireland. Communities coming together when needed and singing our hearts out. I don't know if I know anyone in the crowd but yous are all legends ❤️ The whole day was an amazing send off, from here in Lincoln Place in the city to the funeral and the afters, we never stoped singing. If I get 1% a send off like Shane got...

Friends, I have been looking at all the videos I have of gigs and sessions over the last year. With literally 100s of hours of footage, I decided it would be nice to make a video just to say thank you to all for the support in 2022. Ive been busy editing this video over the last few days and I have it down to just 25mins of highlights. I have shared it here and on youtube for everyone to See wh...

The Town I Loved So Well Phil Coulter( Seán Butler Cover)
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.Год назад
The Town I Loved So Well is a song written by Phil Coulter about his childhood in Derry, Northern Ireland. The first three verses are about the simple lifestyle he grew up with in Derry, while the final two deal with the Troubles, and lament how his placid hometown had become a major military outpost, plagued with violence. The final verse includes a message of hope for a "bright, brand new day...

I love the Ethos. However, I recognise some of the Faces around that Table who are not for us. Love th3 Rare Old Times but not the overall Message. Don’t blame immigrants who are invited in by Governments. Blame Governments who belong too a Certain Club and we ain’t in it! Depopulation and Replacement Agenda.
Good auld pub sing along 🇮🇪💚
💚
Nice one Butsy.
🙏🇮🇪🙏
You wont believe how often i watch and listen to this song!... im indian by birth but grew up in London...but i swear i must have been Irish in a past life as i love and relate to everything Irish especially the music RIP Pete StJohn❤

Who is the guy to George Murphy’s left with the goatee?
Beautiful song, one I've never come across before. Just curious as to why some of your videos end abruptly? 🤔
Amazing love this culture and friendship
that was incredible, what a great culture!
Can anyone tell me who the singers are in this video? I know some but a few are new faces to me. Thank you.
As an Australian with half Irish Ancestery. Listening to this calls me home to a place I've never been. But I feel it's a reflection of the changing world we all live in. Nothing is what it was once and for many, it feels like it's maybe not for the better.
can not disagree with you my friend, so best be making the best of it then, whatever it maybe , my guess is,,,,,the best you will ever get in life is simply having the craic with good honest folk and sure, do we need anything more than that,,,,,,
@@MrMollypockets 'my guess is,,,,,the best you will ever get in life is simply having the craic with good honest folk and sure, do we need anything more than that' - Never a truer word spoken there friend. No matter where we hail from across the "Quay" around the world, I think we can all agree to that and I think that's the biggest lesson that the progress and complications of today have shed light on. Simpler times make for happier and more fulfilling lives and bring out the best in us...
aww what a fantastic advert ,well done John Lewis
Which pub is this?
I am not remotely Irish , however , I keep gravitating back to this , how wonderful, tinged with a hint of sadness , this is how one’s life should be celebrated… Absolute gold ..
Two national treasures of Irish music, paying their respects to a third. Thanks for the video, a beautiful moment to share.
I never connected with this song--and shamefully overlooked Paddy Reilly--until I saw this video. Now I'm completely sold.
I need recorded versions of this stuff. Doesn't seem like anything is available from you guys. Am I wrong?
Ciao Shane ❤️
How beautiful their voices. American here, descended from Irish who came here in 1700's. This makes me homesick for a land I've never known. My Dad said if you're Irish, Ireland calls you home.
RIP Shane ☘️☘️☘️❤️❤️❤️☘️☘️ im irish rover 🇮🇪🍺🤠
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤☘☘☘☘
He skipped the second verse
COMMOVENTE
My mom passed away in Athenry so it gives me a heartwarming feeling of sadness. Great video.
whats christian bale doing there
Oh LOL....I get it, he's a blast from the past, a Baird that died 100 years ago....
Serious! Even better if you play it at 1.25x 😅
As an American this song means a lot to me my great grandparents escaped the Irish potato famine
Now, the nower days , what have the done to Dublin? Everything changes to fast. It's so sad. So many foreigners and corporations like Google, Meta, Amazon, they determine the cityscape. What will future bring to us?
St. Pete John has been right, when he wrote this verses in the 70ths
I dont know how mamy comments i have on here but this is the best upload ever man 2 legends 1 singing and the other playing the guitar in a irish pub the sing a long as well give me goosebumps still no matter how many times i listen 😪🇨🇮🇨🇮
Love it 🇮🇪🇮🇪
The best ever to sing em! Padddy Reilly!
These geezers Cryin are probably Masons that have sold out Ireland.
I live down the road from Beaumount House and am a beginner guitar player. Is it possible to join in on these sessions or is it a closed group? Would love to play with people.
The night was dark and the fight was ended The moon shone down O'Connell Street I stood alone where brave men perished They're gone, they're gone Their God to meet The worst I met was a dying rebel Bending o'er, I heard him say "God bless my home in dear Cork City God bless the cause for which I die" The next I met was a fair haired maiden Kneeling by her lover's side She prayed to God, her heavenly father That in his footsteps that she might climb The next I met was a grey haired father Searching for his only son I said "My man, there's no use searching For up to heaven your son has gone" My only son was shot in Dublin Fighting for his country bold He fought for Ireland and Ireland's glory The harp, the shamrock, green white and gold
fantastic,i don;t know who pete st john was but he had some great friends.
I am an Irishman, ❤😢 what a terrific song. Slainte
Oh to be irish, i am just obsessed with this
Love it. And I love to see people that are putting a little effort into their appearance! No T-Shirt in sight.
Mighty stuff 👌👌👌👌
As a teenager in Scotland we heard Irish music and sang it all the time and knew all the words. Still love to hear it and I am 78.
Real dandy's, like Wilde, do still exist. Marvelous!
I have been to Ireland 3 times I love the Irish people are so welcoming I felt so good there I can't wait to come back and on Galway a city that I love greetings from Switzerland dear Irish friends you are great people like your music which exudes joy and good humor
So much talent drinking pints and singing

Irish funerals are largely more fun than English weddings. Sincerely, an English guy.
