Thank you for explaining why we need to pre-compose. I've never understood why, and now I know it's because the tracking takes over the position data. Amazing!
Another tip. You don't need to precompose the layer if you did tracking. Just put a transform effect and place it below, and you can change its position without adding too many precomps.

Another quick tip to make your life easier: apply the tracking to a null object instead of the OG clip. Then parrent every layer you want to be tracked to the null object. No need to reposition every layer after the tracking that way :)
Big fan. Have been waiting for this video since ages. Your Euro trip video is one of our favourites. Although we edit our videos on Final Cut Pro but we get a lot of brilliant ideas from your tutorials. Wish to try this trick sometime in future. Still a long way though.
Hey dude, awesome tutorial! Btw it will be easier if you create a Null Object and you copy the tracking data to it. Then you can parent all the masked layers to it and you wouldn't need to move the anchor point with each object.
Tip: if youre deffo gonna track, place it on a null object so that you can independently change position of your subject also place multiple objects and connect it to the null and all of them will also be in the tracked position/movement
