Mr. Iaconelli, I wanted to suggest something that you probably are already aware of but I seen a tip on stupid tubes that will increase your hook up ratio immensely. If you take a pair of scissors and make a 1/4 inch or so cut on the back side of the tube so that the round bend of the hook is in that slit on the tube, and only the front side of the tube is penetrated by the hook point it makes a world of difference. Allows the tube when bit to collapse better and get out of the way of the hook set. I was losing fish on the stupid tube pretty much 15 percent or more of my catches. When I made that change my hook up went to pretty much 100 percent on not losing them......

I have kept these tubes around for years and never thought of rigging them this way. I'll be trying this, thanks Mike!

My buddy Terry McWilliams is pretty much credited for coming up with the stupid tube - use it all the time! Fish catcher for sure!

I like to use a heavier jig head for my tubes. 5/16 is the lightest I fish. Gives the tube a erratic action.

Mike, I tried to rig my Berkley Max Scent tubes this way and the weight end almost always comes out of the bottom of the tube. Any suggestions since the Max Scent tubes are only 3 1/2 inches long??

Nik Dime it doesn’t have to be a 60 degree eye.. traditional eyes work fine

I am attempting to insert a 1/8 oz tube jig head into a 3 1/2 in tube and cannot come close to getting the hook in a position to Texas rig it without tearing the jig head out of the tube. What size jig head are you using ?
