    The Stupid Tube jighead in nothing short of genius! I fish a timbered reservoir so Texas rigging is a must!

    This was helpful. I started using a tube this year and immediately caught nice smallmouth from Lake Champlain while bank fishing. Your underwater shot at the end not only shows the tube swimming, but there is a nice shot of either frog or salamander larvae attached to some plant material.

    I just bought some tubes two days ago and had no clue how to rig them. Never fished for bass before, so thanks much for the straight forward video. Hope I get it right the first time, haha.

    FWIW I use the Trokar Tournament Tube hook. It's a non weighted EWG hook. Just t rig it like your other plastics. It's simple and it has a bait keeper.

    Hey TW
    Appreciate the vid. Original BassnMan, Bobby Garland Gitzit, open water application with 1/16 or 1/8 oz, jighead in first, open hook point. For those bluff suspended fish or other open water application. I mention this because Bobby Garland is the originator for this approach. TW does sell the Original Gitzit Tournament Series Gitzit. Thanks for the vid.

    What hook sizes are best for the tube sizes???

    • @Looshington
      @Looshington Месяц назад

      depends on the size of tube but i’d say 3-4 EWG

    Only problem I’ve had with this is hook up ratio is poor. Cutting the lower wall of the tube at the hook helps.

    Can your Weighted hooks be too big for the Tube? I have a hard time turning the hook around without tearing the tube up.

  • @levibender1160
    @levibender1160 11 месяцев назад

    I keep it simple.... eagle claw 1/16 or 1/8 oz tube jig head put in from the bottom of the tube and eyelet pushed out.... catch many many more fish this way and have a better hook up ratio vs Texas rigging it or doing the stupid tube rig

    • @joestrummer9507

      The whole point of this rig is it's weedless/snagless and it falls differently, thus it's superior to your method in many situations chief.

  • @Redhornet4791

    How is the hook up ratio on this rig, or does the tube ball up on the hook shank?

  • @pondparadisedesignsinc.rob5313

  • @ICyfish

    What happens if the tube falls off? Do you have to cut off the hook and re rig and re tie?

    • @sikamoreify
      @sikamoreify 11 месяцев назад

      The tube will not fall off, at least not before it's ready to change out anyways. But yes, you cannot rig the tube to the hook while it's tied on the line.

  • @chugnorris8516

    I'm gonna try this one. I always use a ned rig, works good. But it does get snagged something's.

    What is the hook size on these jigs? Not all tubes are the same thickness, are these jigheads 2/0, 3/0, 4/0????

  • @dougp8345

    OK, so basically every time you want to replace the tube you have to cut the line first, hook, and retie?

    • @lkeith88

      Dude just texas rig it. Way simpler and the action is identical and just as weedless.

    Do you get alot of line twists? I fished it the other day and my line was crazy twisted

    • @andybales7318
      @andybales7318 Год назад

      Add a small swivel 10-12" above the lure...always helps with baits that twist the line...floating worms is another example

      @@TackleWarehouse do the FG for people looking to step their game up. My tip with the FG is to skip the “locking” finish (ie half-hitches behind the tag) as this raises the tag’s profile (not what you want). Instead, just continue doing the finish hitches as usual, but do more (I do 5 x “above and belows” - if you know what I mean). You’re left with a nice flush knot that won’t fail. Cheers from Down-Under 😊
