    Do you prefer recording directly to a mixer or straight into your DAW? Why or why not?

    It’s always fun to have more channel doing those gear talks; Talking how you use the pieces in your workflow, not just the feature list… keep em coming!

      I appreciate that and agree completely! Loving watching how people find their own ways to use gear. More videos coming!

    Nice job ! I think it simplifies recording in general and we can get back to the MUSIC and not having to be Engineers

    I do the same with the sub out of the model 12. Anything can go to the sampler! Nice setup!

      Thanks! Yeah, I'm not sure what its intended usage is, but I can't think of using the submix for anything other than a sampler feeding tube now 😆

    Elo.
    Where u mentioned about not yet figuring out a way of sequencing your guitar, I can offer a suggestion.
    I recently got an RC 202. It’s ideal as it has MIDI in & out so you can sync your guitar loops perfectly. I have clock sent from Maschine via MIDI to a thru box, then from thru box to tr8s, 2 x boutiques (ju06a & sh01a) td3 and rc202. With the rc202 my bass or guitar can be perfectly synced to everything else. It would be a good option for you for sure. Also, if u put any effects after the RC202, you can manipulate the guitar loop live after laying the riff down (ideal for a filter or something)
    The rc505 is the beast mode version but I myself have only used the 202. I have it on my desktop aside everything else, and a fs6 foot switch to start and stop my bass recording. ;)

      Now that's a great idea! Thanks for the detailed rundown :) I'm looking to get the SP-404 mk2 and accomplish something very similar to what you're describing here.

    It would have been nice if these Tascam Model mixers had a HDMI out for sending that small screen to a full sized monitor. I’m sure some electronic guy already made an out for it already !

      wow that would be interesting! although stepping into DAW territory :)

    So, when recording with this can you save sessions and go back to them later to add more or edit?

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  Месяц назад

      Yes, you've got the multiracks recorded to an SD card and you can either record over some or all of the tracks, and you can even set 'punch in' points, or simply record after the initial recording and keep adding to that at the end.

    I used the same set up on my channel. Its great eh?

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  9 дней назад

      Indeed! That's the final piece of gear I needed to record everything the way I wanted.

    Personally, I'm using Zoom L12 mixer (there also a L20 version as well).

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  Месяц назад +1

      That was my second choice, and I can't even recall why I went for the Tascam over the Zoom. They definitely cover a lot of the same ground.

      @@nedogled ... might be because Tascam series has EQ but Zoom doesn't?

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  10 дней назад

      @@pabloarellano7359 It looks like the Livetrak does have EQ, you just need to select the channel and mess with the shared EQ, but the settings are saved per channel

      @@nedogled thanks for the explanation... Im searching for a multitrack for myself and I think the Tascam Model12 worth those extra $$$... at least for my workflow... nice videos btw and keep doing it!!!

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  9 дней назад +1

      @@pabloarellano7359 Thanks! My overall conclusion is that the Livetrak is more suited for recording a live band (it also had a couple of headphone outs), while the Tascam Model series is better suited for synth-based setups and one-person projects.

    Can you please explain me how to record to daw with effects. I try to record it in daw and it is recording raw even i hear the effects

    • @nedogled
      @nedogled  7 дней назад +1

      I'm not sure, as I've never recorded to a DAW, I just record to the SD card and I don't use the effects. Check page 41 of the manual, you might find some answers there.

      Hmm are you hearing the effects during the playback? I've never actually used the effects on the Model 12, as I'm using effects on the individual instruments I'm recording.
