Consider this: Dillard won for best band that year, and Summer Camargo won the composition contest and the Ella award for best overall soloist. That’s like winning homecoming queen and prom queen in the same night the football team wins states. If you look at all the stuff she did while she was still in high school - Grammy band, NAfME, NYO Jazz - you could conclude that she was embarking on a career that has seen her play in numerous settings with her own group and others.
Congrats to Summer for landing the trumpet chair in the SNL Band!
She got them dizzy cheeks tho lmfao
But not the dizzy neck, only dizzy has that neck.
@@gregothy9190 i laughed out loud at that haha
@@gregothy9190 It started with his cheeks, then moved down.

We need to encourage more girls to play brass instruments!!
Why just brass?
That’s not the point. Appreciate she’s phenomenal at her instrument. Gender shouldn’t play a role here.

Mingus quote by the tenor player
How has nobody mentioned that tenor sax solo. That is insanely difficult to even attempt
Who’s the trumpet player? Simply amazing.
Patrick Brodie summer camargo
is that improvised or pre-prepared?
@@kajatanmusic5635 improv
kajatan music Improvised. However, they're prepared. They practise their solos a lot; some of the phrasing or expressions are like words you know to be used whenever you feel like using them. After all that preparation, they want to play and NOT really think. They want to express what they feel, and they can brcause they've put in all those hours and years of mastering their instruments technically. It is a very physical but also mental process...the before performance work.
SHEEEEEEEE SH
reall, great solos ❤❤❤
But the vocal intro ... well ... what would Dizzy say? 😢
What is the piano player's name
Avi Meyer - His name is Miles Lennox
Miles is Bud Powell incarnate!!!@@lucasrestivo4301
Heard a lot of Monk with that Piano player
Great 😊👌👌 horn arrangement
Great horn playing
A woman excelling on a trumpet, an instrument usually associated with men
The vocalist has a few intonation problems. The band is awesome and Camarga is brilliant. Kudo's also to the guy on lead trumpet, he is a rock ! The second trumpet solo was not comparable. Few people would be !
Trumpet is an instrument for frogs.
Noblesville did it better
