In this video, I talk about an edible flower that I grow at home called Society Garlic.
This easy to grow plant has edible leaves and flowers with a Garlic flavour that doesn't make your breath smell.
It's very easy to grow, loves a friable soil that is free draining and likes the full sun.
It's also heat tolerant and very hardy. I grow mine in a container with compost, worm castings and feed with worm tea. I have never once seen a pest on it and the Bees love it.
If you have never grown this before it's definitely a plant that I would recommend that you put on your list.

Hi Amy,,thanks I like them'
Pretty flower! I've got a friend down the road from me that talks to me about wild edibles...so much to learn.
Don't imagine that society garlic would like my climate at the moment...-18 and over a foot of snow lol.
Just subscribed from Saskatchewan Canada
Wow, a subscriber Saskatchewan Canada. I would love to see that snow, as I have only seen it once in my life. Nice to meet you. All the best from the Mid North Coast NSW Australia.
@@martysgarden Come on over, I'll even let you take as much snow as you like home with you! 😀

Hi Steve, thanks for the sub. I teach sustainable urban garden practices here that combines the use of turning our waste into organic fertilisers using compost worms. I have just created a new weekly segment called the Grow Table based which I think you will enjoy.
Have a nice weekend

We would like to meet your wife !
I am a full time single Dad Ella, maybe one day if I am blessed I will meet the right one.
What should I feed my worms to make them little fat boys
Just keep them healthy with a broad diet,,they will fatten up in time. Legume proteins can help
Are you eating and growing edible flowers?
dandelions 😎
Cool,,in tea too?
Yep, I have society garlic and it handles light frosts we get in Melbourne ok.
I also grow viola, nasturtium, dianthus, marigold and roses all of which are edible, although I hardly ever use the roses in food.
Keep up the great info Marty and Karin.
martysgarden tea and salad. I did a little video on dandelions, weed killers and bees. Message is don’t use weedkillers. Cheers mate.
Did you ever get those stingless bees?
