  • Ventured up north to the land of the loon, (Knuthöjdsmossen) to spend 2 days photographing the beautiful red-throated loon and decided to vlog my trip out on the mire.
If you´re in Sweden between april - august I highly recommend visiting Knuthöjdsmossen, Hällefors.
This is the best know nesting area for the red throated loon in sweden and every year there are a bunch of nesting loons in this nature reserve, a beautiful location to visit even for none birders.
    Note!
Due to this area being a known nesting area for the red throated loon and are exposed to wear and tear, you´re not allowed to leave the pathway during april-august while the loon is nesting, you´re not allowed to fly drones or in any way disturb and harrass the loons, respect the birds and the landscape.
Unfortunally during the 2 days there, I witnessed alot of people not following these simple rules, walking off path and most important, harassed and chased the loons around, this is a behaviour I don´t support and tolerate, totally lack of respect for everyone and mostly for the loons.
Yet, I feel this is such a beautiful place to visit and so I highly recommend visiting this area if you´re in Sweden, be respectful, we all do this thing because we love nature and wildlife, no photo is worth taking if it means harming wildlife in any way possible..
    Cheers!
    Andy

Jag var där i maj och plåtade. Blev mest landskapsbilder dock. Kul att se din film därifrån. Väldigt fina filmsekvenser och grymma bilder!

Just realised I missed this after seeing part 2 - absolutely amazing images and footage of the red-throated divers :D An absolute pleasure to watch this when I'm stuck inside at my desk in an office with zero natural light!
