I had a large group of the dwarf petricola for well over a decade. They bred like bunny rabbits. But one interesting observation I came to realize is they would hunt and kill all my plecos at night, and consume it completely so there was no trace of the body. For that reason, I no longer keep these amazing catfish.
@@Lion-h3art Oh wow really? Mine seem to get along fine with my Pleco. Maybe it’s a behaviour they display in a bigger group? Thank you for sharing your experience, I’ll definitely keep that in mind for when/if I add more
Scoobz great video 👏 I can't even remember you getting these 🤔 when I mentioned them when we was chatting. Losing the plot mate 😂 they're a lovely size & yours don't go up side down much to some I have seen.
Hey Peridot i hope you're well,do you think a few of them would be too much for my 200 with my massive common going in there with 2 bristlenoses? they look cool 👍
@@Magicwerx The same as usual & thanks for asking. Yes a couple would be fine but as Scoobz as stated they do like plant life & also places to hide, I find them marvellous especially when they're upside down.
@@peridot-20 Thanks Peridot,it will be a planted tank and i just bought some pleco enclosures of different sizes, got some descent wood pices i'm soaking at the mo and going to grab some rocks next week, can't wait 👍
@@peridot-20 yeah my bigger one is one of my oldest fish 😁 have had her since before I started this channel. Love them but I always forget to make videos about them 😅
@@pxtxr. Thank you for the sub! Senegal bichirs get quite big, it might look at the catfish as snacks eventually. They’d be okay at the start when the bichir is still young, mine get along with my ornate bichir, but I’m planning to move mine once he gets to a certain size
i had a Synodontis nigriventris (upside down catfish) not that long ago and theyre super interesting species!! ive been looking into synodontis catfish and all of them seem so cool lol!! i'd like too get some synodontis pictus soon as well :D
@@dw929 It should be fine, I’ve never kept mine with loaches but I do have corydoras in the tank and they get along great. I’d imagine it would be similar with the yoyo loaches. And thank you bro, appreciate it!
@@bleucrofish Anubias is a nice strong plant. Java fern is also great once it attaches itself properly on hardscape. Most plants are okay once they’re rooted but it depends on what kind of fish you have
@@LewisThomas-dt2rw fair point, I’d say 300 might be a bit too much though no? I reckon a group of 4 would be alright in a 200. I could be wrong though
@ScoobzNPetz depending on footprint maybe but I would say anything below 16 inches front to back isn't going to give you much of a scape and anything below 4 foot long is to short They're like cories the more the better so anything from 6 to 10 is a nice number

if these tend to dig, do they not disturb your plants? I'm also planning a rainbow, cory tank for a 110, with plants.
