- In this latest installment of K-Town, host Matthew Kang visits Gaja, a dark, punk rock cocktail bar in East Atlanta Village. Founded by three siblings who grew up in Atlanta, the evening destination plays movies on Sunday nights, catering to locals craving the easygoing bar food. Kang chats with the owners while sipping on some of the cocktails, which incorporate Korean ingredients.

Thanks for watching everyone! My favorite part of this episode is at the end when I come to the realization that if I were to ever open a restaurant, it would basically be Gaja. Great vibe, great people, super good (and fun) food. I like when people try their best to make delicious Korean food, but also not take it too seriously. This concludes our season in Atlanta! Stay tuned for the next season...not gonna spill the beans yet but I think you will like where I end up :)
I hope you come to Toronto with this show sometime in the future
What did you do with the pickled radishes? I'm not sure I got it over the background noise.
Thanks for the great video. Gaja was by far the worst Korean food ever for me. After watching the video I understand why now. The owners never learned what Korean food should taste like, they didn't grow up in Korea. I live in only 2 miles from Gaja and I was excited to find out this place when I moved here. Their reviews were great but of course all reviews were from non-Koreans. The restaurant has great vibe, great customers, okay service (not so friendly staff) but the worst Korean food. Every food I have ordered was disasters (I have been there three times because I want the local Korean bar to stay long and want to find something that I can eat) rice was uncooked, fried chicken was not crispy but salty as well. This has been the ONLY restaurant that I couldn't have the second bite. I had to ask the server whether the owner was Korean, that was how bad the food was. I am not talking about the food not being so Korea, any good food is good to anyone. I can't believe you made me log on RUclips, this is my very first comment on RUclips, I don't want people go there for food.
Why do I sit here hungry watching Eater episodes, my stomach growling louder and louder?

DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS!?!?!?!?
YESSSSSS!!!!!
Thank you Matt for introducing Korean food series and I'm learning more about our food! 👍🇰🇷😋👌
Love watching your videos Matthew! I love Korean food even more now after watching your videos!
Good episode... the connection when you both pushed out the pickled radish tho... 😂
Danny (the owner) reminds me of the old lady from Mulan
he looks like an asian post malone
He started balling when he was young...
LOVE Oldboy, saw it in the theatre when it came out.
Sheeeeeeit, I'm like 10 miles from ATL and I'm going to have to check this out when/if the pandemic ever lifts.
I love the host so much even though we have exactly zero korean food here.
the movie projected on the wall is a great idea
Solid video 👍🏻
I used to do that too to the radish. Would always push it out and eat it separate :D
Honestly I felt so relieved when I met someone else that did that.
We're going to start a support group
I’ll be stopping by for the hush puppies and cocktails in the next 30 days!!
this place is bumpin'.
WTF Eater! It's Thursday. You're fuckin' up my routine, lol...
This guy. I like him.
a fucking mazing. These are my favorite videos to watch, thank you from the bottom of my big belly.
korean post malone
Danny was so cool.
LIVED IN ATL FOR 20 YR.. NEVER HEARD OF THIS PLACE..LOL
Please do the next season in Garden Grove, CA. Korean food there is pretty bomb.
Saltvation omg yesssss!!!
I'm also in favor of this...but what are the best spots?
The Past Memories at 9252 Garden Grove Blvd Ste 29, Garden Grove, CA 92844 serves some great bar food.
Han Kook Kwon located inside Arirang Market's food court has some great traditional Korean dishes (Bibimbap, stone bowl soups). They even have "dead body soup". The owner lady does all the cooking. The market is located at 9580 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92844.
Myung In Dumplings inside H-Mart's food court has some of the best dumplings and steam buns I ever had. Everything's made fresh, and the buns are light and airy. Their address is 8911 Garden Grove Blvd Ste 3, Garden Grove, CA 92844.
These are some of the best spots that I know, and frequently visit. Thanks for replying, Matt.
I'm skeptical too because I'm a Korean food novice and I want to learn what the real deal is first. Not like when people think chipotle is real Mexican food it's NOT it's what people have been taught real Mexican food is. I want to learn real Korean food, not trendy!
Why are the two latest Cult Following series deleted?
Toshan Nongbet You know why.
I'm pretty sure they made that last one as a joke...
She ate a hotdog
Haha don't worry I picked out the radish from kimbap too
Exactly 900 views is so satisfying
They look like brothers
All white joint... blessed be the rich
Braised pork belly sounds good. I wonder how it would taste with venison as a substitution for the pork? :-D
BlueFrostedGlass venison is a much leaner meat compared to pork, so cooking it for so long will pretty much just dry it out
Good point, Thanks :-)
oh my god ... hot dog gimbap with kimchi fried rice instead of normal rice and then deep fried .... they rly are from the south 😂
It's Bobby Lee with a man-bun!
is it me or does he seem like a punk rock david chang
my brother used to date the sister lol small world..
I watched a text from this video ' avoid from communist' In korean
I'M HUNGRY.

Whenever I tell my dad these things, like korean fusions or american foods with korean influences, he seems disillusioned a bit
No cult following, what a Thursday.
that chick cuts her own fringe
Damm I'm more interested in the babe behind matt. @ 5:35
Fried kimbap? it's sound like weird.
I WATCH THIS FOR THE HOST, NOT THE CONTENT.
does the guy know he's allowed to use his whole mouth to talk
Why does the male owner speak as if he only has half a mouth?
He was buzzed.
this isnt korean food.
It is okay not to be real Korea food as long as it is good, but their food actually was terrible. I live in the neighborhood.
Cult Following wasn't that bad, @eater. Come on, people are gonna say mean shit once in a while, fuck it. Put that shit back on!!!!
No.
najahbrah you know what would make cult following much better? make it into an insider/facebook video with captions. and add the host with an OOMM reaction. because thats basically what it is
Please no.
