If you freeze fresh dumplings, spread them first on a tray in the freezer. Then after they are fully frozen, place in a bag or container. Otherwise they will stick together...even after they are thawed. Trust me. #dumplinglog
This place is the best. We stop here whenever we're in the area for big dumplings on the go. The owner lady is super sweet and always recognizes us when we come. It's just her and her husband that run the place. Was there last night and brought some home for lunch today :) if you're ever in the area you should definitely visit.
NO STEAM MANDU?!?!?! THAT SHOULD BE A CRIME! They are similar to the boiled one except because they have been steamed and once they leave the steamer the heat dries out their skin giving it a little chewy and tight skin. It is AMAZING. My favorite of all the korean Mandus.
if people complained like they do for serena on all eater vids... He was so disrespectful when he ate the kimchi and didnt say he loved it! Also whats with his weird face?..... Ok done being a child, Great video as usual!
The steamed king mandoo and pizza are two of my favorite foods. I could have them everyday. With fried dumplings, I like the sweet Thai chili sauce. SOOO good. But with boiled or pan fried, it's Sriracha time.
You guys can *try the Vietnamese version of these steamed buns* filled with seasoned ground meat, boiled eggs, wood ear mushrooms, and Cantonese sausages.
it's actually a 'trilogy' of revenge movies.. sympathy for mr vengeance and lady vengeance.. oldboy still hands down the best one outta the 3 tho. but the other 2 are very good.. much more darker too
Like Cambodian version of the steam bun the best, it has shiitake mushroom, egg and slice of chinese sausage and pork with onion with salt and pepper :)
Why can't people from Asian cultures get along amongst each other? Sure Latin American countries have their differences, but we are always there for each other when we need help . Just because in El Salvador or in Guatemala or in any other Latin American country they eat tamales, Mexicans never say "oh you copied us!" It's whatever. Learn to cooperate, celebrate your similarities and respect each other in these hard times.
The difference probably comes from Chinese history/civilization going back way further than Korea or Japan, while most Latin American countries are only a few hundred years old, and differ by even less. Fyi: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradle_of_civilization
Ok..I want to try this place out. The last several months I went to ktownla, the restaurants and cafes were full of Chinese peeps. In fact, my friend and I were the only Korean customers there, besides the servers. Where are the Koreans hanging out at?!
Dumplings is like a universal word to describe the food. Each country has their own name lol chill guys. Like in china its called xiao long bao, gyoza in Japanese, momo is nepal etc. But dumplings is english language as a universal word. Everyone knows even this guy knows it originated in china.
All this people getting pissed off about dumplings. I'm a Chinese and Indonesian, and I just wanna say "how bout you just enjoy the korean guy eat those dumplings"
Hey Matt, I would love to meet you and have a comparison of Korean Dumplings and Chinese Dumplings when COVID is over. There is a place called Hui Tou Xiang Noodles House in San Gabriel Valley that makes some most delicious Chinese Dumplings.
Good video. I think Chinese people get annoyed when other cultures claim something as distinctly their own, when it was inspired or originated from China. Dumplings, noodles, ramen, are all examples of dishes that started out in China. Food crosses cultures and that's awesome. But perhaps Chinese just feel that they deserve more credit?
Are this the one of Pokémon when ash and the gang rest and they start eating some dumpling ?? With that black mark in the middle or is it rice?? I want to try that since watching Pokémon as a kid.
dumpling heaven? were you on a drug when you made this video? chun ha literally translates to 'under the sky'. Many ways to interpret this word but 'heaven' is not one of them.
@@awesomejackify3333 Sorry for getting historical but china has no history 🤣 Mao burned all history and china is a polluted waste land of overpopulatiin
I really can't look at dumplings or Asian pastries of any kind and not associate that with Chinese cuisine. If you're a neighbor of China, almost all your dishes originate from there, lol They were too advanced early. Spice blends and flavor combinations, I can see it being a Korean style. You don't really get that through a camera though. Coming from a dude that has nothing to do with these nationalities.
Its just food, Yall need to calm the fuck down with bringing nationality competition into everything. people like u two are whats wrong with the world.
The Japanese word gyōza was derived from the reading of 餃子 in the Mandarin (giǎoze) and is written using the same Chinese characters. At least, Japanese give some respect to this Chinese cuisine.
quentin zhu well mandu sounds like the chinese mantou 馒头, which has no filling. tho mandu obviously are jiao zi/gyoza i don't know how they stuck with mandu/mantou
no clue , but i guess word meanings can change over the years. eg: the word gay(happy) became homo 50~70 years ago , so with a food item introduced hundreds to thousands of years ago that might have had a different form might have stuck with what it's called then. just like the word for pineapple(insert meme here)
the hanja for 만두 is in fact 饅頭 the etymology for 'dumpling' in chinese/japanese/korean are heavily hypothesised and give a good read in spare time haha
viewers are irritated because of how he presents the content. In a lot of his videos he often claims that the presented item is the korean answer to this ethnic dish or that ethnic dish, and his mannerism often suggest that the korean version is superior. He claims things and calls it korean but the truth is that other cultures uses the same ingredients in their own cuisine. Korean cuisine is unique but it also draws a lot of influence from dishes of other cultures, but that point is never brought up.
If you freeze fresh dumplings, spread them first on a tray in the freezer. Then after they are fully frozen, place in a bag or container. Otherwise they will stick together...even after they are thawed. Trust me. #dumplinglog
We also recommend dusting them with a pinch of corn starch!
Eater salt*
Anybody else noticed that 100% legit Korean ahjumma at the back.. the shirt, the hat!! That's so ahjumma style! So cute!

Matt keeps getting better every episode
Dumplings are one of my favorite foods.. Mandu looks so delicious. Fluffy breading over juicy filling... I need to eat this this weekend lol
Very interesting that this Korean cuisine is actually not too far removed from traditional Polish pierogi & kopytka dumplings :)
The king dumplings look amazing, I love the steamed bao dumplings so I'm sure I'd love those too.
lol people in the comments getting all patriotic over dumplings I can't

Excellent editing and commentary. Engaged throughout the whole video, cheers
Meanwhile Julius Dean is in the background contemplating his next magic trick over some dumplings

That Food Looks 😋 Delicious!! I gotta go to KTown😍😍
I love all of this guy's videos, it's great to hear where to eat good Korean food from someone that grew up eating it. Dumplings are so yummy.
There's something special about dumplings. They're like little gift boxes.
I have a special love for dumplings.
I'm pretty sure I have that exact shirt bought from uniqlo 😂
can we try to appreciate the food rather than who copied who? they look delicious!
if people complained like they do for serena on all eater vids... He was so disrespectful when he ate the kimchi and didnt say he loved it! Also whats with his weird face?..... Ok done being a child, Great video as usual!

Chun Ha doesn't mean heaven. It literally translated to "under the heavens," and is used synonymously with "the world."
Hey Matt, I would love to meet you and have a comparison of Korean Dumplings and Chinese Dumplings when COVID is over. There is a place called Hui Tou Xiang Noodles House in San Gabriel Valley that makes some most delicious Chinese Dumplings.

Dw, Matthew is a whitewashed Korean American
Lol the whole meal just looks like Northern Chinese food
iamsheep. Northeast China was part of Korea for centuries.
Kev L oh sorry for getting historical.but Korean was actually part of China. 😀
@@awesomejackify3333 Sorry for getting historical but china has no history 🤣 Mao burned all history and china is a polluted waste land of overpopulatiin

PSY has perfect english?

Kimchee isn't a palate cleanser. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!!!
This guy makes whatever food he eats look boring.
i don't know when he wants to lose weight
No offense, even Japanese can make dumpling 10 times better than Korean. No need to bring Chinese out lol.

He mentions in this video that some of the dumplings are Korean takes on Chinese dumplings.
