      Did you add the oil after you curled your hair?

  • @wordplay6665
    @wordplay6665 2 года назад +43

    I’m natural and stopped using perms and got this done every 2 weeks. My hair was great straight but my curls were gone… the heat had the same reaction like a perm on my hair

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  2 года назад +40

      Yep, that's because your hair was heat trained over time. It's a good thing when you want it to remain straight or get to straight styles more quickly and easily. Not so much when you want your curls back. 😩😩

      @@DanielleLaShawn Yeap! So now I only get it pressed a couple times a year and my curls are popping. Straight doesn’t last long, but the curls are much more convenient

    Style looks great. But looks like you have heat damage.

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  10 месяцев назад +3

      I do. That's what heat training your hair does. It loosens your natural curl pattern.

    how do you put it up at night?
    also just a tip, if you’re able to turn your flat iron down any and still get the same result, do that! i try to keep mine low as possible and just blow dry my hair really straight. yours should be easy to do on at least a little bit lower of a setting bc you got it so straight, do small parts, and use the comb

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  2 года назад +3

      Lower doesn't give me the same results. I'm also not concerned about heat "damage". Video with how I wrap it up at night is coming!

    If I stick to a blow dry once a month, is it heat training too? I like volume when straight and I want to keep my curl pattern intact too…

    • @DanielleLaShawn

      Heat training means loosening your curl pattern. You can use heat and wear your hair less textured without heat training.
