I’m glad my video helped 🩵 the zebra is easy to catch onto so don’t worry about using it. You’ll get used to using it very fast within your first few days because you’ll use it so much 😂. As for tips I would say not to rush if you aren’t on a time limit because I would clean and stock reshop so fast & be sooo bored 😭 also customers might get on your nerves sometimes because you’ll clean/organize something and it’d be messed up within a few mins but that’s just apart of the job. Yes they definitely give more hours around holidays. I worked there during Christmas season lol and they scheduled me like 6 days in a row it was horrible.

it’s a lot harder getting hired when you’re under 18 but if you can, absolutely go for it. It’s very simple, you’re just shopping but it does take physical work (climbing ladders, pushing vehicles, walking, carrying things, etc.)

General merchandise involves stocking and some reshopping. There isn’t any cashiering so you don’t have to worry about that unless your store trains you for whenever it’s busy but that’s unlikely.
No, they never put me on register. They did say we were supposed to get cross trained but they never had time to do it. I think it’ll depend on the store.

I wouldn’t say lonely but you’re definitely working by yourself most of the time. I get bored of things when they’re repetitive lol, so I would say it was boring only because I wish they switched up departments once in a while for us to zone.
I only worked in this department so I can’t speak for others but this position was very chill. Anything is better than cashier lol. Customers didn’t bother that much either.

Yes you can wear any shirt/hoodie as long as it’s red and maroon counts as well. Any jean color or khaki pants.

No I didn’t have to do pogs! As a merchandiser we just put reshop back on the correct shelf and made sure the shelves were organized/clean.

It’ll end at 10 or 11pm and when it starts depends on your availability.
How long were your hours as a general merchandise expert closing ?
8 hour shifts, 5 days a week so 40 hrs total. When I first started they were like 5-6 hours.

Yeah, basically stocking reshop and making sure the shelves are organized and clean.
