People don't realize that Lauryn speaks her vulnerabilities through her music. When she says "tell me where's the love in anxiety?"I can understand that she has struggles that can missed if you don't catch it. She answered the question to one of her fans bc he shouted out to her "why are you late?" In her wisdom and honesty she opened up and said she is human and have issues, thanked him and appreciated his question and understands that people laugh at her. I feel like when God calls you to spread His message there will always be that thorn in the flesh to stop the message. I do hope she can strengthen that which is natural and be on time ad much as she can bc she has words of wisdom from on high from the Lord. Remember Solomon and David were psalmist who had great struggles. Pray for her as she attempts to enter this industry bc it is not easy bc her message is so strong the pushback will be greater.

Was able to see her perform in Brooklyn at Boys & girls HS football field for the African Street festival when they had their 1st few hit singles . I used to carry a camera to black events like this. I was able to see her walking away with her mom and I asked her if I could take a picture of her and her beautiful Nubian knots. I got 2 in and her mother said let's go. I got the pictures developed in doubles ( which shows my age ). The next year their Diamond selling album comes out. I went to the record store to get it and saw the line. I was able to get in but they stopped the autograph album line. So I put her picture in an envelope and gave it to security and said could you give this to her and watched him. Things died down and I waited patiently in the store. I saw when he gave it to her. She opened it and Pras looked at it & her mother grabbed the picture, mom was not for the play play. She looked up and held the picture and he pointed at me. I was able to get her to sign it. I told her to keep 1 for herself. She signed it and I think included the studio number cause it was a NJ number and then all 3 allowed me to take pictures if them. Unfortunately the store lights fooled my camera and it didn't really flash so those pictures didn't come out great. Those were the days cause most people didn't want to be bothered with a camera. #MyGratefulCelebrityMoment
I also waited 1.5 hours for her to perform for free at wingate football field, bring your own chairs. She murdered that mic and stage but folks weren't that loyal and folks had to go to work the next day cause it was on Mondays in the summer like late July to August for 4 weeks.

I should clarify something from my last post here. I'm not saying that it's okay that Ms. Hill made some mistakes and that some people paid good money for her shows which resulted in late appearances. But being unkind and judgemental doesn't solve anything or motivate anyone to change their behavior - in fact it has a contrary effect. I'm sure nobody feels worse about those mistakes than her, just as I sorely regret the times I was irresponsible back when I used to use. We are harder on ourselves than anyone else could think of being. I just thank God that finally I was able to stop, I finally just didn't have the temptation anymore. We can't change the past, but we do have to take responsibility for it. We don't need to live in it, though. Love and understanding from others helped me get to a better place. Judgement and unkindness from others at times (especially from those close to me) slowed that process for a while. Because unless we are a sociopath (I'm not, and I'm quite sure Ms Hill isn't either) of course we care that we've made mistakes that have hurt others. Of course we feel badly about it. Love and forgiveness are beautiful things. Nobody will ever be perfect but we can all strive to be more loving and understanding. We can (and should) call someone on their bad behavior. But we don't have to be unkind about it.
