I know, I've been a fan of her since I turned 3 years old back in 1993 (I was born in 1990), Lauryn is an gorgeous , sweethearted and badass women, daughter, wife, singer, mother, musician and actress , I look up to her even in my now early thirties and always will

She’s an alto, plus she’s older, she’s not going to have the same range or the same voice, don’t judge her instrument. She’s an amazing musician and an amazing artist. She carries her life with her and it’s a different jewel, but a jewel still.

I know. Some people complained about hearing "...cracks and bruises"; however, I loved hearing it. She sang it as if she was talking to herself.
She couldn't hear herself singing. Her earpiece wasn't working properly.
She's in vocal distress. It's hard to watch. Her range is gone and she's working really hard. I wish she was feeling better than she is.

That voice is damaged though still has a nice sound but it's important to be healthy and properly trained your voice. Otherwise, it will get worse and could end someone's singing.

IF there was a problem with the performance it was the earpiece, she keeps going to her left ear piece, and at the end even takes it off for a moment.

@@amukunzi493 when you are a great singer and you have a loud band flowing sounds around you. Your earpieces are the only way you can hear yourself singing. It will throw most singers off.

If ya watch her communicate in a normal conversation within an interview if you can find one, you’ll see she’s in a pretty good headspace, her band is killin and if you’ve ever tried to perform with a group of that size and with backup singers and a horn section, a drummer blasting anything he wants, you’ll know that it’s very hard to pull that off in any kind of natural way. Also she’s not touring or doing tons of performances lately so I’d say this came off just about as great as it could have and I’m greatful to have seen in it and her band.

Whenever Lauren sings live she does her own rendition of the song and speeds up the melodies and flow. It's just not the right tempo and speed to which she prefers and seems most comfortable to sing to💖

She was having a time with those earpieces...it's difficult when you cannot hear yourself. She wanted them to get it right, but someone never did.
But she handled that, she put her motions right in with her performance, Awesome.

The incomparable ms Hill, having the bravery to cover the legendary ms Simone is a treasure in itself, I feel in this performance you can see an artist going from *should I be doing this? * to... Damn right I should be!! And in the process, channelling all that was nina into that last few notes, leaving us with.... Not a masterpiece but a master class in what it takes to cover a true gem.
