Sorry sadly no in retrospect, the whole movie and story is about: her life is about a very talented American actress who decided to get really really bad plastic surgery and completely f#### her career up End of story, I think sadly.
Bridget Jones is bloody brilliant, rene zellweger plays a brilliant part and a very good english accent. Now they are supposed to be making a fourth one.
Haha, my husband point-blank hates him in everything (and he doesn't like Rom-Coms). I've shown him this, and he said Grant was barely tolerable (as opposed to flat-out refusing to watch it, like he would with other films xD)
I have to disagree with you on Bridget Jones Baby, I thought it was a fine movie, but it was definitely missing the charm of the first two films a bit, I will say that, but I do get your point and what you're saying there, bro! But hopefully the fourth movie's good, though!
In the 2000s, there were two iconic women in two iconic cities, Bridget in London and Carrie in New York, as a man I much rather have the all real and funnier Bridget Jones any day
When they’re at the dinner table talking about marriage and it being 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 marriages that end in divorce.. so either 25% or 33% - a difference of 8% - I don’t believe that’s a. If enough percentage to make. Huge deal out of .. at that point you’re just cherry picking it
Percentages can seem rather small until they're compared to actual numbers. 28 vs 33 out of every hundred is a bigger difference than 1 out of 3 or 4. It continues to grow as the numbers do. Then it's 330,000 vs 250,000 out of 1 million. That's 80,000 people. Bump it up to a billion and you've got yourself a difference of 80,000,000. Considering a billion is only a fraction of the people on this planet, I'd say that one change does make quite a difference.
@@TestaRosssa_ I get it, trust me - but we’re not talking a BILLION people getting a divorce here - if it were extremely high people wouldn’t do it I just don’t think the numbers add up to be making it out like that but consider me extremely naive about this - I have no clue what I’m talking about
@@spangdeez498 You are being really dummmmmb...1 in 3 vs 1 in 4 is a big difference. Anyways, the point here is that since it is the higher proportion it made her case for not marriage not being all that stronger. 1 in 3 is a lot closer to 1/2 meaning half of marriages end in divorce. Anyways, there is probably a reason why you are not a writer because whatever you wrote will be jjst stvpid and boring like you
Where I live the divorce rate is higher than 1/3 and growing up, a larger number than that were divorced or had been divorced and then remarried. 75% of my external adult family members (aunts, uncles etc.) had been divorced. Interestingly, fewer of my cousins have been married ever but those who have....none of them have divorced.
@@kpaxian6044 no offense- but it’s bc they “thought they were in love” 🙄 literally NO ONE cares- marriage is about money, the govt wants you to get married m, so the man gets a job and pays taxes- then you have have kids that can also pay taxes…. *QUESTION FOR BRITS:* How was Renee Zellweger's accent in _Bridget Jones's Diary?_ Like 99.9% of straight guys, I watched it on a date. With a girl. Didn't really think much of it at the time. But I just re-watched it, and it's actually a surprisingly decent movie. At the time, I couldn't tell a good British accent from a bad one, but living in Holland 2003-2008 I watched a lot of BBC. And although I sometimes find British accents sounding believable that turn out to be way off ... Zellweger sounds pretty good. Or am I completely wrong again. And it's terrible to a Brit.
It's good, she has a slight cutesy babyishness to the voice which isn't British (we are far from cute), but all her vowels and intonations are perfect for a middle class girl from the South of England.

This whole movie is practically a manual on how not to die of second-hand embarrassment.
Ikr I could never watch this all together 😂 I get way too Embarrassed
Hahaha
Yes, me too! The second-hand embarrassment is too much. That means their acting and execution of these scenes were on point!
Don’t worry. When I get older you do not care. I just look back and become embarrassed. 😊

Bridget Jones has never seemed to surprise me with her awkwardly amazing moments and her quick witted thinking
You mean ceased?
Bridget Jones' leaving speech will always be the most iconic moment of the Bridget Jones franchise.
Bridget Jones is bloody brilliant, rene zellweger plays a brilliant part and a very good english accent. Now they are supposed to be making a fourth one.
That episode with the call from a long-dead professor had me really hooked. I laughed SO hard
Jesus i don't believe there's a person who sees this Hugh Grant and wouldn't fall in love. Gosh he's gorgeous.
Especially Colin 🙈
Haha, my husband point-blank hates him in everything (and he doesn't like Rom-Coms). I've shown him this, and he said Grant was barely tolerable (as opposed to flat-out refusing to watch it, like he would with other films xD)
are you high, Daniel Cleaver is possibly the most abhorrent individual ever created in the history of histories, give your head a wobble wtf?
He's creepy to me
He is really unattractive to me. I never saw the appeal. But each to their own.
This is my new years movie. Every new years day for the past 15 years Ive been watching it ❤ one of my faves.
The series is really cute!
HUGHs best hair...
Agreed. I don't what product they used on him but his hairstylist should be credited on the top billing.
Movie is hilarious and you won't believe but book is even better
Yes! I usually read on my commute and the first and second book had me laughing like an insane person on the train!
I preferred the movie. I found the book too feminist.
I love the co-worker who had her back!
Everyone talking bout how gorgeous hugh Grant was hello what about colin Firth😂
I was paying full attention to Colin Firth and have had a crush on him every since
He is supposed to be modelled on Keir Starmer 😂poor Colin
This film is just one awkward moment to the next and trying not to die inside as you flinch to grab your phone to escape.
Just love this. Different times. Better times all round
O...M...G... how did I JUST learn that this woman then became Moaning Myrtle? The ghost who cries in the girl's bathroom in Harry potter???
Me too haha
Still stuck in the bathroom
This movie is amazing and the actress is very talented and she is also 50% Swiss, like me 😊
One of my favorite movies...🥰
Us Brits just love our Bridge❤

I really love it …
TOTAL AND FANTASTIC MADNESS‼️‼️

I remember reading this in my twenties...
Bridget Jones was a funny, smart movie, not at all like Bridget Jones' Baby, which was absolutely appalling.

Hahahah fuckwitt boyfriend 🤣🤣🤣
Rene is a legend
