Now these two French women who actually live in Paris reacting to the show? I can totally binge this!
@zggg89 I think you mean, SATIRE instead of PARODY. I get satire, but there's a big difference between smartly written satires (like Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada) to ones that just picks out every single plot point and presents it like it's the real deal. It underestimates the viewers' intelligence. And maybe it's just me, but when you're doing a satire, you write the main character as still relatable so that you root for them to succeed. There was nothing in the writing of Lily Collins' character that makes me want to do that. The fact that she cheats with a friend's boyfriend? Is that also a parody? So I guess haha? Sex and the City did it with Carrie, too, but after a couple of seasons, after many episodes of us rooting for Carrie & her love life. I don't know, maybe I'm just dumb, like you implied in your comment, and this is all a PARODY and I didn't get it and you did.

A lot of visitors or watchers romanticize living in certain places. People who actually live there know the realities. But EIP is not supposed to be realistic. I live in a place where people have unrealistic expectations. They come in the summer and base their opinions on summer life! I did like this video and do love Paris. I get a laugh out of Emily and the cast. Yes, they are stereotypical, but it is not reality. I see enough serious stuff and misery that a bit of escapism doesn’t hurt.

I think that what she meant by saying "too many shows romanticize NY"😂 gossip girl is amazing but it romanticizes the city sm: for instance no scenes in some neighborhoods + gigantic apartments (rents in NY are SO expensive, regular new yorkers don't live in a penthouse :) + they don't take the subway once (which is one of the easiest ways to commute)... and I could go on😂
The way they described Paris I felt at home in my state of Massachusetts. Taking large items on the T(and it's not fancy), mugging, cobblestones, mean people and dangerous traffic. Check and check. 😆 We just don't all speak French but we do have water fountains with toxic waters too.

I'm french and even tho everyone says that people in Paris are mean I don't feel it that way! People are actually pretty polite saying hi, thank you, holding doors and litteraly just being decent and nice human beings! I feel like it's mainly when people are in a hurry or in the metro that we can get that feeling but people are not as mean as people think!
Sorry, I felt like hugging and kissing a polite Brit when I arrived to London after Paris. People were rude there, smirked at my attempts to speak French and pulled faces.
Done very well, thank you! Tired of people talking badly about Emily in Paris because it's not supposed to be totally factual, at least that's what I think. It's fun to watch and most of us don't believe everything that is happening in the show. I've experienced rude French people in Montreal, but the last time I was there, everyone was very nice and even accepted my apology for not being able to speak French. That was great! (from Sandi)
I was in Paris for work while pregnant, so I empathize with Emily's boss, what's her name 😂. I had the best time to be honest but I come from a place that's dirtier and more crowded, with bigger social issues and more rude hahahaha everything seemed easy in Paris to be honest, loved the metro it was very convenient. People were polite and very very diverse, nothing like this show, I was eating pho bo with bloody meat everyday, and meeting friends at quartiet Latin every night. So beautiful.... But as I said I come from an ugly crowded poor and rude place. I'm sure someone who comes from rural America will not feel at ease immediately. Btw I didn't know French either 😂 I speak 4 other languages but not French, it didn't seem to be a huge problem because everyone was speaking English, and most people weren't even French-French but truly cosmopolitan, and from all over the world, so we would mix and match talking in French, English, Italian, Japanese, a bit of Turkish or Greek etc... Anyways, it was fine. It helps a lot of you are truly fluent of course, but like Emily I was for just a little while, and it didn't seem to be a huge problem.

Love that there’s a video about this. I wondered what French people think of this show. They definitely have the attitude of please don’t come here. Can’t blame them though, there have been a lot of Americans in Paris lately
I think it's a distinction between being honest to someone's face, even if that's mean, and being mean for the fun of it, behind their back? Just guessing, but that's sort of where I draw the line on these things.
Pretty sure it does rhyme though. It’s supposed to be pronounced “Em-i-lee in Pair-ee”. It’s just that those of us who are American say it “Emily in Paris” 😂
I’m American who went to Paris, and I have to say the ppl were pretty nice, more talkative than here in California. But I did get robbed on the metro though (a homeless(I think) guy stole my ticket, lol).
I have had 6 french profs and just once I would like one of them to say "no parisians are not mean, that is just a stereotype". So far none of them has😄
Personally I don't feel that Parisians are mean. They don't have time for tourist bullsh*t, which is understandable as tourists flood the city in millions and are usually very demanding. When you actually need help or start a conversation when appropriate (if you're the only one in the restaurant during a rainy lunch hour, for instance) - most of them are wonderful. Connecting to Parisians requires a different mindset than on the countryside (where people have a more allowing life pace for generosity, generally), but you can easily make many friends.
I'm French but I live in the South and a lot of French people don't particularly like Paris because of the rush of the city and how rude people can be.
@@merry_christmas oh I understand perfectly why Parisians might act the way they do. Still that does reinforce the stereotype to the point other French people who dont live in Paris consider them rude.

That girl had personality of paper but every guy was falling in love with her left and right 🤣🤣 Bella (Twilight) syndrome 😭😂0
I actually want them to do a commentary on every single episode. Would subscribe to that in a heartbeat.
They have a hint of directness mixed with cocky rude and snob. But hey i love it
Emily in Paris is the most idiotic, greenlighted show on Netflix. It's like the writers wrote a bunch of American and French stereotypes and cliche, put it inside a bingo cage and then randomly chose which shit to put into each episode.
Now these two French women who actually live in Paris reacting to the show? I can totally binge this!
@Enrico Silvestri But you cared enough to reply to my comment? Do you not get the irony of your action?
Why are you talking about something idiotic? Why are you investing your time into something you dislike so much? o.O
@@LayllasLocker For me, it's a form of exercise on how to spot bad scriptwriting and clichés in storytelling.
@@LayllasLocker Also, nice paintings. And cute cats! I'm also a crazy cat lady 😊
*We need Anaïs & Marie to review more of season 2 as well! I could listen to them disagreeing for hours.
Can they do this for all the French Netflix content. I would love that.
The woman on the left is so mean and honest and I absolutely love her 😂❤️
I like the one on the right, the woman on the left is too mean and sarcastic.
@@monicacappetta7017 i love mean girls 😏
These two girls are true representation of people from Paris, the kind you don’t want sit on the same table with. 😊
I find them nice but maybe because i’m parisian 😂
Ohhhh yes. I made the mistake of sitting at the same table as a Parisan woman (1st mistake) in the McDonalds (2nd mistake) on the Champs Elyees, trying to strike up a conversation (3rd mistake) in my very crappy French (4th mistake)! The Parisans, of course, are NOTHING like this show. They're WORSE lol!
Yeah they are blinded with a sense of fake superiority, its pathetic how insecure they seem. Woman in my poor country are more gentle,in peace with themselves and stronger. They really feel like they eat out of an astray each morning.
@@becsterbrisbane6275 did you know this Parisian woman before you sat at her table and started talking to her?
I could watch HOURS of those two ladies doing mean reviews on films, fashion and life in general haha.
Them: the French way to be rude is to your face.
Also them 2 min later: oh that’s so mean, we wouldn’t say that, I mean in the WhatsApp group but not to her face.
😂😂 just thought it was funny. Great video!!
I’m French but don’t agree that paris is not a romantic city. For having lived in many countries around the world. There is something totally magic about Paris. Not Emily cringy type of romantic but definitely something that takes you in.
I agree. Stepping in poop is so romantic, the smell of urine, and don't let me get started about the muggings❤
@@Keyrose-my3xr That’s any big city in the world. Not unique to Paris. But the beauty of Paris saves the day. Voila. Salut.
@kath6720 sorry to tell you, but no. I have travelled all through Europe and Paris rates the highest for urine.
People urinating in public are absolutely disgusting, and it isn't an "every city" thing.
@@Keyrose-my3xr dude im european to and i know you are lying...
@@Keyrose-my3xr then don’t come back. It’s ok. I’m sure we’ll survive you not coming back as hard as it may be.
I'd love to see them now react to "We Like To Watch: Emily In Paris."
It's hard to be this funny in another language, I love yhem !!
Regarding traffic in Paris, when I get there I'm always amazed of how polite drivers are. You cross on red light and the cars just wait without honking.
I love these women! Can there please be something like *Queens Who Like to Watch* but with them?!
Love mean France people 😁
When I and my sis were near effect tower, we wanted to buy some sweets and the worker at that shop did not want to sell anything because I did not say “Bonjour” that was funny 😅
Yes, because we have a sense of politeness which starts with "bonjour" and ends with "merci, bonne journée"
who's the mean one then?
3:30 and this is why, French people outside of Paris don’t like Parisians and Paris 😂 elsewhere in France, people are nicer than Paris!
Honestly it’s considered rude to not say « Bonjour » before asking something in France. It’s obligatory to say it.
They say politeness and manners matter but they clean their noses in front of your eyes with so much noise :D
I lived for 2y6m in Paris in 2005. I love living there as a student. I worked as make up artist and waitressing at night.
French men were nice to me, French girls not so much. I made friends with a lot of other nationalities. The only francophone girls I made friends are Belgium and Swiss girls. They're nice and genuine.
What they say about Paris is right... if you look too much like a rich tourist you'll get mugged/pickpockets hunt you😆
Can't walk with high heels unless you plan to just go to an event and go home with a cab after😄
Speaking as a Swiss girl: thank you :-)
@@duchessnicole 🤗🥰
Haitian girls are another group of nice Francophone girls.
1:55 "hahaha that is so not chambre de bonne"
2:12 Emily : "OMG I feel like Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge"
Anaïs : "hahaha sure"
That sarcastic laugh lmao I just love it
Believe it or not I've watched this three times lol
I love them! They're hilarious. I wouldn't mind a second part!
I have been to Paris five times and still have not had enough of Paris as a visitor. Maybe I should try to live there for a year to really experience life over there.
Please don't. We have enough people here.
Live in a satellite city and travel to Paris from time to time
It's really not that pretty
They have this Trixie Katyaness to their dynamic
I have lived in Paris, loved it. I see *Emily in Paris* as entertainment not an instruction book.
Im still kinda upset they had this 'dutch' guy on the show but hé couldn't even prononounce his own last name correctly. It was 'de Groot'.... these small details make the show less credible in my eyes
That’s why I lived in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. 🇨🇭You get some French culture (Swiss French) w/nice people. Even in my worst faux pas, everyone was very kind and patient with me. I wish I could move there permanently.
They need a show. They're savage and witty.
Can we get a series with these two?
LOVE THIS! and don't worry we know this isnt an accurate representation. Its a tv show. I'm from NY, too many shows romanticize NY, and my god its a pain in the ass!
Tell more about NYC pls! Is it like gossip girl ?
I think that what she meant by saying "too many shows romanticize NY"😂 gossip girl is amazing but it romanticizes the city sm: for instance no scenes in some neighborhoods + gigantic apartments (rents in NY are SO expensive, regular new yorkers don't live in a penthouse :) + they don't take the subway once (which is one of the easiest ways to commute)... and I could go on😂
"Flirting, that's like, part of the French constitution" 😂😂
Never watched EIP but love watching people rip it apart.
They both look so parisian! Its so interesting that they are so forthright about paris 😃
what is a parisian look
It's very French to be critical of everything
The way they described Paris I felt at home in my state of Massachusetts. Taking large items on the T(and it's not fancy), mugging, cobblestones, mean people and dangerous traffic. Check and check. 😆 We just don't all speak French but we do have water fountains with toxic waters too.
I one visited Paris (Which I love by the way) but my then girlfriend and I asked for our steak to be cooked rare and it came well done. When we complained the waiter simply shrugged and said "that iz inglish rare" and walked off!
I feel like I just made two friends watching this lol
I am going to check out their podcasts lol
I'm french and even tho everyone says that people in Paris are mean I don't feel it that way! People are actually pretty polite saying hi, thank you, holding doors and litteraly just being decent and nice human beings! I feel like it's mainly when people are in a hurry or in the metro that we can get that feeling but people are not as mean as people think!
It's because you've never been a foreigner there :)
A lot of people, especially waitstaff are quite rude to foreigners in Paris
Thats the bare minimum as a human being 🥲🥲
Sorry, I felt like hugging and kissing a polite Brit when I arrived to London after Paris. People were rude there, smirked at my attempts to speak French and pulled faces.
@@umah6890 I have a question for y'all
How do you know when people are rude to you when you don't know french ?
Funnily enough Marie and Anais are such typical French names 😂
Done very well, thank you! Tired of people talking badly about Emily in Paris because it's not supposed to be totally factual, at least that's what I think. It's fun to watch and most of us don't believe everything that is happening in the show. I've experienced rude French people in Montreal, but the last time I was there, everyone was very nice and even accepted my apology for not being able to speak French. That was great! (from Sandi)
This is really a lot of fun! Keep doing more of these videos, they are so honest and straight forward, and I simply love them.
You're from Greece?
To be honest camille and Sylvie are the most stylish in the show especially Sylvie❤❤
OMG! Their commentary had me cracking up. Loved this!
I love them! Please show more of them!
Thank you for saying everything we’ve all been screaming the last 2 seasons!😂I really hope this show ends up with her getting mugged and living like a real Parisian.
I think I enjoy this reaction more than the show itself 😂
These ladies are hilarious and honest!
I LOVE the reality you girls put in as I too have lived in Paris and NOTHING Emily does or wear is “normal”!
I just love them! They're so honest. I need more videos 😂
I would have loved about an hour of this.
Living some months in Paris is still one of my dreams... I'd accept both good and bad aspects just to feel the real Paris
I would watch a whole series of these two, they’re great!
Two honest women what the world needs more of 🥰👌
This show makes me laugh. We do not speak in english language unless with tourists and most do not speak english very well unless we care enough to learn mdr
I like this series a lot bc of the whimsy but I definitely know better than to take a series seriously.. it's so cool to see what is and isn't realistic in it
Love that there’s a video about this. I wondered what French people think of this show. They definitely have the attitude of please don’t come here. Can’t blame them though, there have been a lot of Americans in Paris lately
I like them. We could be friends 🤣
them: "if you're going to be mean, be man to someone's face."
*also them: "we would say it on a private WhatsApp group, not to their face"* . -.-
I think it's a distinction between being honest to someone's face, even if that's mean, and being mean for the fun of it, behind their back? Just guessing, but that's sort of where I draw the line on these things.
Pretty sure it does rhyme though. It’s supposed to be pronounced “Em-i-lee in Pair-ee”. It’s just that those of us who are American say it “Emily in Paris” 😂
@Elhamdani Ouiam I’m saying “Emily”and “Paris” are with the same sound. Both in “eee”.
I’m American who went to Paris, and I have to say the ppl were pretty nice, more talkative than here in California. But I did get robbed on the metro though (a homeless(I think) guy stole my ticket, lol).
I need more of these two. This was great 😍
Man I want more of this! These ladies are hilarious and awesome🤣
These women are fantastic!
I love their chemistry
@@honestlycastle You have to realise that many many people living in Paris are NOT originally from Paris. So the so-called "Parisian rudeness" is for every french to be responsible of. I'm a true Parisian btw ^^
I want to see these two lovely women again and not just for Emily in Paris but for more shows, I like them
I thought Emily in Paris was set in the 80s because of their fashion senses.

Whatever American and Parisians in comments say about this show. The show is awesome. I love the plot I love Emily's attitude. That's what it's about.
They forgot to show the Africans trying to sell you Eiffel accessories in a string bag. And also the European pickpockets 😩🤣
Happy they didn’t
I moved to Germany and I visited Paris for a week and the Parisians are sooooooo nice, they were so nice to me, if they couldn't speak English, they would step out of work to show me direction or take me to where I want to go. I could ask any single Parisian people for help and all of them would help me. Yes, there are scams, yes it is expensive, yes there are thieves but French people are not rude, they are not assholes to everyone they meet, French or not. They are very warm and kind people. But my God, they work really slow.
You were lucky, bc parisians aren't known for being kind at all, and it's not even a myth 😭
@@theunknownstudent9686 Bruh. You haven't met Germans. They are either nice or act like you're wasting their time by being their customers.
@@baconpancakes8899 I've been to Germany twice and I have to admit that I have no memories of how it went with them 😭 so I'll trust you on this one!
Hi @Bacon Pancakes ! Thank you for that 😊 Nice to see some people had actually a pleasant experience in Paris ! It's a fresh change from all the bash we constantly get, even though I admit it is sometimes deserved 😅 I'm surprised by the slow comment, it made me laugh xD Care to share a "slow" moment you had in Paris?
@@alexiakaffes1775 For example, there will be 10 customers queuing at the pharmacy cashier and the pharmacist would be slowly scanning the products with one hand. The people at the cash register in bakeries move like they are very sleepy.
But the people working in the train stations are very active, rapid and hardworking.
I also noticed that when French people speak fluent English, it sounds American rather than British. (Even in Germany, they speak English with an American accent.)
But I will forever remember Parisians as nice people, because they were too nice and too kind.
lmaooo they are both so witty and funny! I love them.
